The contention that Brady Quinn could beat out Matt Cassel for the starting job is ridiculous.

There are reasons Quinn has spent his entire professional career unable to stay in a starting lineup and those reasons are not suddenly gone. He has physical ability that Cassel doesn’t have but Cassel has him beat all day when it comes to leadership and in-game decision making. He is not going to roll into KC and seriously compete for the starting job.

Do the Chiefs need to get better at QB? Absolutely. Is Brady Quinn the answer? Absolutely not.

Handing the ball off shouldn’t be too tough for any QB the Chiefs choose as that is primarily what they will be ask to do. Run Run Run Run then pass.

If he didn’t hold out he would of started from game 1. Instead, that season led to Derek Anderson making the Pro Bowl and he never got a fair shot to develop.

I’m all for quinn coming to kc, I’d rather watch him hand the ball off to jc and hillis than cassel. Most of cassel’s passes sail iver everyones head anyway, there’s no reason Quinn couldn’t beat out cassel(he has been a BACKUP QB his whole career). Who did Quinn have to throw to in cleveland anyway?!

I think this is one of the best landing spots for Quinn . Cassel is a weak starter who could very well give way to Quinn presuming he struggles early in the season.

Of course, I think Quinn would win an open competition with Cassel (and Stanzi), but an open competition is unlikely.

Chiefs would be getting a big steal in FA.

Yes, Quinn was ahead of Tebow in camp…right up until the end of camp. Quinn blew his chance in the last preseason game against the Cards when he started with the first team. His performance there put him behind Tebow. Recall, he was 4/12, 0 TDs, 1 Int, and one fumble lost for a QB rating of 7.6. It was at this point that Tebow became the #2.

He had his chance and blew it. It wasn’t the first time and likely won’t be the last.

The only reason Teblow beat out Quinn was because Elway and Fox gave into the fans. Quinn should have been the starter last year. I hope he beats out Cassell.

Quinn DID beat Teblow out. Notice how John Fox placed him 2nd on the depth chart and Teblow 3rd?

Teblow only got to play because of the media campaign and public support for him.

Cassel is a bad QB. Quinn isn’t a great QB but he is better than Cassel
