Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that the Rams have agreed to terms with center Scott Wells.
Wells is regarded as a fine NFL center, but the Packers were annually trying to replace him. G.M. Ted Thompson doesn’t usually let valuable players get away in free agency. Wells (6'2/300) is a relatively undersized center and turned 31 a couple of months ago. He was hardly a premium free agent.
Wells made two free agent visits, first to the Titans and second to Rams Park. He never left St. Louis.
He was the No. 95 player on the PFT Hot 100.
