First, I want to thank you for being one of the few reasonable and articulate Raiders fans that I’ve seen on PFT.

Second, I agree. Not only did an 8-8 team win the AFC West, but on paper, they are less talented than the other three. They got lucky in a bunch of games against mediocre teams.

Oakland’s defense was 30th in points per game last season. 29th in yards per game. 29th in TDs. I’m not real worried about being unable to replace all of that. I hate the Chiefs, but I want them to get better. I don’t ever want to see another 8-8 division winner coming out of the AFC West.

Just cant protect in space. He will make a decent backup OT for somebody. Would be interesting to see him kick inside to RG, he might be able to develop into a decent starting because playing inside he wouldn’t have to be alone in space like he would at OT. Anyways, I really like the Winston signing. The Chiefs haven’t had a solid RT since Jon Tait. Going back its been Barry Richardson, Ryan O’Callighan, Damion McIntosh, Kyle Turley, Will Svitek, Kevin Sampson, Chris Terry, John Welbourn and Jordan Black. So RT has been an issue since the 2004 season.

I’m a Chiefs/Jets fan but I’d have to agree with the Raiders fan here. Cassel is a terrible QB, the Chiefs really need Quinn to step up and realize the potential he had coming out in the draft in 2007

Wimbley, Henderson, and Trevor Scott are gone. That’s about it. Your rushing attack is mostly Charles, and when the season starts he will be about one year removed from an ACL tear. And you still have Cassel. It’s too early to dream of ending the playoff drought. Have some patience.

Or maybe the front office is trying to get free agents and none of them want to go to Cleveland. Too much turmoil, too many changes, and it’s been an unstable franchise since it came back. It’s not a desirable situation to go to.

I really like your GM’s strategy. Cutting all of your starters without signing very many guys to replace them and without any quality draft picks. 8-8 two years in a row and not getting any more talented.

If you aren’t getting better in the NFL, you’re getting worse.

I love how Raiders fans act like their team hasn’t been an embarrassment to pro football over most of the last decade. At least I can admit that my Chiefs have been mostly irrelevant.
