APThe Denver Broncos announced Sunday that they have re-signed linebacker Joe Mays.
Mays, who turns 27 before the season, was Denver’s third leading tackler a season ago. He started 12 games at middle linebacker, doing most of his damage on first and second downs. Mays is a run-stuffing linebacker and will return to compete for his job with 2011 third-round pick Nate Irving.
If Mays loses the position to Irvin, he could still help the Broncos in a special teams role.

Good resign. I hope hes not our starter but good backup and ST player.
Kramer: “I never said I’d buy a couch for a Joe Mayo…quite frankly, he sounds made up!”
Coo Coo… Mays is a heck of a good player.
