APFree agent quarterback David Garrard will be at Dolphins headquarters on Monday. According to Tania Ganguli of the Florida Times-Union, Garrard is expected to meet with the St. Louis Rams after that.
St. Louis’ new coaching staff is actively seeking an upgrade on former backup A.J. Feeley. The Rams showed interest in Shaun Hill before he re-signed with the Lions. Garrard appears to be Plan B.
Garrard is 34 years old and was out of football last season while recovering from a serious back operation. He’d still likely be a better option than Feeley, and if 100-percent healthy could put some heat on starter Sam Bradford in training camp. Bradford took a large step back in 2011 after a promising rookie year.

AHHHHH.. Who’s next? Charlie Whitehurst? Somebody wake me from this nightmare!
Rams need someone to push Bradford! Hopefully they keep Amendola at WR.
“Bradford took a large step back in 2011″
It didn’t help that the team had so many injuries. It’s hard to have a good season when the OL is shredded and the WR had injuries. Not to mention a pretty crappy D. I don’t think it’s fair to make that statement.
You don’t bench the future for the mediocre at best past. No way garrard pushes bradford for the starting spot.
Can Garrard play wide receiver?
Bradford will be learning this third offense in three years – what do you expect?
If this guy puts heat on Bradford, the Rams are in a heap of trouble. They just traded out of the 1A QB in the draft.
Hearing if pats sign amendola to offer sheet, welker will sign tender and pats would then possibly trade him to Rams for Amendola & the 2nd rd pick got from Wasington
Garrard should be starting. Sam “Badd for Rams” BUSTford is a noodle-armed Jokelahoma bust.
Yes yes please Garrard fly to STL, stay away from MIA. A 34yr old QB of your caliber makes no sense here!
Miami should meet him in the parking lot so he does not have to leave his car. Just keep on to St Louis
i really like Garrard classy man , good QB . He’ll be a really nice backup for any team.
@chiselmonkey
Not to insult, but Whitehurst actually went back to San Diego.
But, the Rams need everything on offense!!!
Now that the dolphins effed up everything with flynn, their options are running thin. Why would you low ball the an who knows the system and is ready to play right now? It’s not like he was asking for a kings ransom. 3 years, up to $28 million with $10 million guaranteed. Looks like Seattle showed him the respect he deserved even though he was a way better fit for Miami. I hope flynn lights it up in Seattle and Miami has to go another 15 years without a qb. Thank god I’m not a phins fan.
Seahawks just signed Flynn
Ppl act like miami dont have a qb? Matt moore is decent. Since they traded marshall they need to go get a wr
Stephen Ross is the new Mike Brown. Ross is the worse NFL owner in the league.
I would rather have Moore.
If I was Miami I would Sign Smith now or not let Garrad out of the door Monday and let him compete for the starting job.
If Garrard passes on Miami, they’ll be down to Plan Q….which I think is Don Strock.
The guy did throw up decent numbers wihtout top notch WR, not that the Rams or Fins have that.

I hear we’re going to grant George Wilson, George Mira and Bob Griese a tryout later in the week.
Bradford did take a step back, but that’s what happens when Josh McDaniels joins the offense. He’ll be fine now that the Josh is once again walking around the Pats locker room with his nose stuck up Bills arse.
Bradford didn’t take a step back!!! His receivers and coaching staff and gm did!!! As well as his o-line. Mike sims walker???? Paleeeeezzzze.
smith negotiating with the miami flippers, where you at PFT??
Ireland and Ross leave town!!!!!!
Hell no!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Maybe they should see if Dan Marino wants to play.
Oh how thrilling, a story about David Garrard.

Marino at 50 would still be an upgrade over Garrard at 34.
After all, with the use of Nutrasystem for men, Marino is at his playing weight which is probably better shape than Garrard is in.
