In addition to the contract, cash, possible player reunions, and MAYBE the addition of Mike Wallace, one has to wonder if this hypothesis played any part in the decision making process. Science plays a key role in professional sports these days and players like Peyton are very aware of the data and advantages.

Just sayin’ it could explain a part of why he chose Denver and not SF.

It’s simply supply and demand. People willing to pay to see the NFL and buy the merchandise are the reason they are paid so much. If the players weren’t getting it the owners would be. Until people quit paying for the NFL, it wont end. It’s simple economics.

But the Saints offered a contract larger than this and Condon (Brees Agent), wouldn’t budge from wanting 23million per year.

I love how Manning is a horrible person for taking 19million per year but the Saints are a horrible organization for offering 21million per year to Brees. You guys don’t keep anything in context.

Brees is to the Saints, what Denver hopes Manning will be to their organization. They obviously liked what they saw in workouts…as did every other team since NONE of them rescinded their offeres/interest after seeing him workout or talk with their doctors.

Point is…Manning had no better option to win anywhere else except San Francisco. And Manning initially said he would rather play in the AFC where he doesn’t have to face his brother unless they both reach the SB. Between that, what relationship he seems to have with Elway, and of course MONEY…Manning made the right decision for himself.

Try to keep some things in perspective every once in a while guys. So quick to judge players.

Right, cause no one ever gets tragically murdered in California or Tennessee. There’s this thing called “logic”. When you make an argument you should try to use it. One death doesn’t make a place unwholesome nor does it have anything to do with the motivations of signing a contract. The fact that you would make light of the tragic murder of a good person says a lot about you.
