Frank Booth: Yes, of course it's related to nerve issues - goes without saying. Since I work in this field, my "intent" was not as you assert above, rather, it was to advance the hypothesis set forth with respect atmospheric pressure and the like.

HERE IS THE SCIENCE, FRANK: The body is made up of a set of levers, whose movements copy the geometry of classical mechanics and these levers are powered by muscles. Each of more than 600 muscles is served by nerves. Linking muscles to the brain and spinal cord, a network of nerve circuits carries signals that direct the ebb and flow of muscular energy.

Since bones act as the levers, joints perform as living fulcrums. Muscle, attached to bones by tendons and other connective tissue, exerts force by converting chemical energy into tension and contraction. When a muscle contracts, it shortens, in many cases pulling bone like a lever across its hinge = ARM STRENGTH.

Seriously, why attack me on such a personal level, Frank? Just wanted to share another perspective based in science - facts that rang true for me when I read this thread. Geez...

Has anyone considered the advantage Peyton MAY enjoy by playing @ Mile High? Could the Manning “team” have considered this factor with respect to mitigating possible issues with his arm strength, velocity, resistance and the like?

Think of it this way: Atmospheric pressure at sea level is 14.696 pounds per square inch (PSI). At an altitude of 5,280 feet it is about 12.1 PSI, over 15% less. 15% less air resistance will make a LOT of difference…

In addition to the contract, cash, possible player reunions, and MAYBE the addition of Mike Wallace, one has to wonder if this hypothesis played any part in the decision making process. Science plays a key role in professional sports these days and players like Peyton are very aware of the data and advantages.

Just sayin’ it could explain a part of why he chose Denver and not SF.
===================================
I would doubt it. He still has to throw the ball and he still has to take a hit. The only intent of your post was to try and look intelligent, anyway, with information that can be garnered anywhere on the internet. By the way, it's a nerve issue, not an issue of arm strength.

Whats really ridiculous is that sharks123 didn’t learn how to spell rediculous before he dropped out of elementary school.

Even more silly is the fact that you spelled the contraction for "What is" as "Whats" rather than "What's" while you were trying to point out someone else's mistake. I'm guessing that you dropped out before sharks123 did.

I'm willing to bet money a large portion of you who are talking trash about Manning, defended Brees and said the Saints were 100% wrong. Brees is a year younger and arguably the better QB.

But the Saints offered a contract larger than this and Condon (Brees Agent), wouldn't budge from wanting 23million per year.

I love how Manning is a horrible person for taking 19million per year but the Saints are a horrible organization for offering 21million per year to Brees. You guys don't keep anything in context.

Brees is to the Saints, what Denver hopes Manning will be to their organization. They obviously liked what they saw in workouts...as did every other team since NONE of them rescinded their offeres/interest after seeing him workout or talk with their doctors.

Point is...Manning had no better option to win anywhere else except San Francisco. And Manning initially said he would rather play in the AFC where he doesn't have to face his brother unless they both reach the SB. Between that, what relationship he seems to have with Elway, and of course MONEY...Manning made the right decision for himself.

Try to keep some things in perspective every once in a while guys. So quick to judge players.

Some of you fans are morons. Peyton did not choose money over rings. Wouldn't you want to get paid what you're worth? A hall of game QB is with $15-$20 million, that's why he got...fair market value. I hate the donkeys but they were the right choice. Niners fans need to understand their team isn't as good as they would like to think they are. Niners had a very soft schedule last year. They got the cowboys at home, the giants at home (twice) the eagles early in the year when they were terrible and the steelers a week after Roethlisbergers injury so he couldn't barely even move let alone throw. They had one tough opponent on the road, the ravens. Next year niners have the bears, jets, patriots and saints all on the road. Sorry niner fans you are 8-8 at best next year.

Some of you fans are morons. Peyton did not choose money over rings. Wouldn’t you want to get paid what you’re worth? A hall of game QB is with $15-$20 million, that’s why he got…fair market value. I hate the donkeys but they were the right choice.
This is honestly john elway's dream scenario. He can finally do what everyone always saw he wanted to do, but lied about the entire time. If manning sucks or gets injured, he could say "well, i risked it on a hall of famer" and not an "unproven" young quarterback who just didnt have the mechanics. if tebow balls hard, then good for him. He works hard and i wouldnt be surprised if he won a super bowl. mind you, trent dilfer has won a super bowl. ANYTHING can happen. i feel like this is a win-win scenario for everyone at the end of the day. I was getting so sick of the tebow-elway bull. Wow, the storylines are going to be absolutely crazy this season. The two biggest stories in football are literally smashing together right now. Let the Return of Peyton Manning and the Quest of Tim Tebow to Get a Coach to Like Him Even Though He Wins Games collide.

Right, cause no one ever gets tragically murdered in California or Tennessee. There's this thing called "logic". When you make an argument you should try to use it. One death doesn't make a place unwholesome nor does it have anything to do with the motivations of signing a contract. The fact that you would make light of the tragic murder of a good person says a lot about you.

None of us know exactly what Manning is thinking so we shouldn't presume too much. That said, looking at Denver's team compared to SF and even tennessee, its obvious a big part of his decision was the all powerful benjamin. It is sort of disappointing from a lot of people's perspectives because we know how great of a QB Peyton WAS and how much money he has been paid over the years by the Colts and the dozens of endorsement deals. So to see him "cop out" with the team that didn't have the best talent for some extra bucks is disappointing to those who know Manning as a competitor. I guarantee you the Titans and Niners still have a better chance of making the playoffs this year than Denver 0-1 game last year as it was so to think Manning is going to come in and simply blow the Chargers, Chiefs, and Raiders totally away is wwishful thinking on anyone's part. Enjoy the smiles while you can Bowlen and Elway.

the broncose made the playoffs without a qb last year. their defense, which is for real, wont be spending 40 minutes on the field every week any more. people who dont think that a healthy peyton turns denver into a legit threat are a bunch of morons….or disgruntled 49′er fans.

They also lost their Defensive Co-ordinator from last year and will be starting with a new Defensive Co-ordinator for like the 8th year in a row.. Champ isn't that young anymore, Dawkins is done.... Their D was tough last year, but I'm not so sure the loss of Dennis Allen isn't going to hurt their promising young D more than everyone thinks it will....
