Bruce Irvin arrested for destruction of property

Last month, former West Virginia defensive end Bruce Irvin ran very fast at the Scouting Combine, with a 4.5 in the 40-yard dash.  Over the weekend, he apparently didn’t run fast enough.

Irvin was arrested late Saturday night in Morgantown for destruction of property, according to WVMetroNews.com.  He allegedly broke a sign at a sandwich shop.

A pass-rush specialist whose final season fell short of expectations with only 8.5 sacks, Irvin’s performance in Indianapolis resulted in a surge in phone calls expressing interest in him.

More phone calls than, say, the two he was allowed to make late Saturday night.

Well if you had to pick a place to break a sign, Jimmy John’s is it, because they, just like Bruce Irvin, are freakishly fast!!

Did he do a spin move to get the sign, or was it just a straight ahead bull rush? Never enough info from you guys.

His stock should plummet enough to get the Eagles salivating. They always use their first round picks on linemen and he should fall right into their hands.

    Maybe the sign deserved it.

There must not be much going on in that town if they’re arresting people for damaging/breaking signs. So who arrested him, was it Andy or Barny?

  17. christopher525 says: Mar 19, 2012 10:37 AM

Is anyone really shocked that a former West Virginia player got in trouble? If arrests won you a national championship, they’d be untouchable.

Not to worry Bruce, the Helga hat wearing gender benders in MN moved you to the top of their draft board as soon as they heard of your arrest.

Typical…Nothing to see here, just another class act preparing to join the ranks of so many other class acts.

He broke a sandwich shop sign? I wonder if alcohol was involved?

I think I will wait for his side of the story before passing judgement. Maybe it was one of those hanging signs and he just jumped up and hit it and it broke unexpectedly. He is responsible for the damage, but no criminal intent occurred.

WVU develops more Criminals than NFL players… or is it they develop NFL players who all become criminals..???

First of all, I can tell some of you do not read before you pass judgement. He hit the sign it did not break it just spun around. so therefore no crime committed. and from what is being said he was not the only one who hit the sign but the only one arrested. do not pass judgement if you cant read and think logical….

@ a Bruce Irvin Fan…I’m sorry, but I think you need to learn how to read…”Irvin was arrested late Saturday night in Morgantown for destruction of property, according to WVMetroNews.com. He allegedly broke a sign at a sandwich shop.”…where does it say that the sign ” just spun around ” and where does it say
“he was not the only one to hit the sign “…if you read that here, you need new glasses…lol…
