Luis Castillo visited New England Saturday

Free agent defensive lineman Luis Castillo paid a visit to New England, but he left town without signing.

Ian R. Rapoport of the Boston Herald reports that Castillo visited on Saturday.

Although Castillo played in only one game in 2011 because of a broken leg, he could make a lot of sense for the Patriots, who like versatile defensive linemen. When healthy, Castillo has been a starter for the Chargers for his entire seven-year career.

Castillo has already visited the Chiefs and is reportedly drawing interest from other teams as well.

  1. Below heck knows games are won in trenches.. That’s why they haven’t won a Super Bowl since Vinitari left town.

Just ask the Giants about trenches Bill

  2. Good fit and kind of a steal if the price is right. Castillo is a solid player and a very good teammate – he was just never quite worth what the Chargers paid him.

  3. If Belichick knows that games are won in the trenches, what is he doing going after Luis Castillo? As a Chargers fan, I can say with confidence that this guys is a waste of space.

Always makes me laugh seeing fans of teams like the Raiders insulting the level of play of the Patriots.

  5. raidermike, enjoy your qb competition between
    kyle no-baller
    Rhett Bummer
    Carson -“hairy”- Palmer
    and Terrell Liar

your wordplay isn’t really so clever.

  7. I hope the PATS pick him up. Like Rodney and Junior, Castillo deserves to play on a play off team surrounded by good coaches and atmosphere
