Some of you idiots really think Favre made the comment that Peyton is taking too long….give me a break. The media will do anything to get you guys riled up.

Also, I remember the fans getting so outraged and accusing Favre of doing it for the money. What did he get for the last two years….$12 million a year. What is Peyton asking…$20 millions. Who is the guy playing for the money?

______________

Much like the Favre drama, the Peyton drama is greatly media created. Why? Because it generates ratings/clicks.

Big difference I see between the two situations, Favre did things because his heart told him to while Manning is using his head. Much like their respective playing styles actually. Favre deserved some of the backlash he got for the reversals, except for the last one where he said he was done and the Vikings sent his three or four best friends on the team to beg him (and lied about their whereabouts to the press). I really cannot blame Favre too much for that one when he was recruited/begged to give it one more go "for the boys" even after he said no mas.

And again I am going to ask? Why does everyone want him to sign so quickly? Does anything in your life depend on this? It is his timetable not yours. You guys act like you have a vested interest in what he does. Do any of you actually own any of the teams in question?

Like somebody above said, let it play out for God's sake. It will happen when it happens, who are any of you to decide he is taking too long?

Awesome…. hawks got flynn so let manning sit cause it only helps us. manning will be the end of smith for the niners and if manning goes to the niners it will be short lived. alex was two rookie fumbles away from going to the super bowl and the niners offer him back up money. he should be 5years at 50 ….. oh and what if niether manning or smith goes to the niners…welcome to the pit harblaber

Dream on, Seabag. The 9ers never would have been in that situation had AS completed even 30% of his 3rd down passes. The game would have been a blowout. If the 9ers whiff on both meh, they have CK and Tolzein who both have better arms than AS and a lot more upside. AS is a game manager. They won a few close games because of him but they also lost 4 games last year because of him. Harbaugh made him a much better QB but he can't work miracles. His red zone and 3rd down efficiency sucks. But you fun taking a dump in your pants when Manning signs with the 9ers.

Take your time Peyton, you are NOT Favre. Manning never said the word retire and did not email pictures of his Eli to a female Colts employee.

No, but he did allegedly sit on the face of a trainer while at Tennessee while he was naked....

He is probably trying to lobby some team to give up a 1st for Mike Wallace who is by far and away better than any of the receivers for these 3 teams.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

First 9-10 games last year, I'd agree with you.
Wallace all but disappeared in the latter part of the season.

Have you watched Kenny Britt play?

Why does it matter that he wants to be properly compensated for his services AS WELL AS win a ring? Some of you guys are acting like Peyton's decision is screwing up your life or something. Since this whole thing started Peyton has said virtually nothing. He's not working around anyone's schedule but his own, and that's perfectly fine with me as it's his life. He's not waffling like Favre was notorious for. If he is healthy enough to play, then he would still be one of the 3 best QB's in football. He should want to be compensated accordingly.

alonestartexan says:

5 years and 90 million ? For a 36 year old QB that’s had multiple neck surgeries ?

I kinda hope all 3 teams back off until he agrees to sign for half of that.
----------------------------------------------

I thought I was the only one who thought the same thing. Sure, these teams really want a polished QB and Manning certainly fits that bill...but come on...that's a lot of dough for a 36 year old with four or five neck surgeries under his belt. Not a smart investment on the surface anyway...then again, think of all the jersey sales!

The NFC is already stacked these days...but I am absolutely intrigued to see Peyton go to SF and throw to Randy Moss. Vernon Davis is a beast in his own right... That would be fun to watch.

If he doesn't choose SF, you know championships aren't his first priority...Comfort, control, and money are. This decision will tell us a lot about him...if it's ever made.

“Even Brett Favre thinks this is taking too long.”

Free Agency started only six days ago. It only feels like it’s taking to long to you guys because you’re reporting on every little thing the guy does. If the guy sneezes, you report it.

-----------------------------------------

Manning was released 2 weeks ago, before FA started. The rumor then was that he'd pick a team before FA. That way his new team would be better able to get the players they wanted.

The rumored split with the Colts has been around for months. He is not a surprise cut. If this was only about where he wanted to go it would be done. He's had plenty of time. In my opinion, it's all about who will pony up the most money. He will bleed some team dry while the media lauds him for "leaving money on the table". If only Ebenezer Scrooge had his public relations staff.

Reggie Wayne was smart to not wait for Manning before picking a team because the whole Manning world tour bonanza will only benefit one person, Peyton.
