Tyler Palko became an unrestricted free agent on March 13. He is not currently under contract with the Chiefs, nor is he likely to be. He has not been tendered and offer by the Chiefs.

So, this suggests Pioli’s move to grab Quinn is not only strategic, by providing a credible backup to Cassel, who has been subject to some quirky injuries and medical issues (remember the appendicitis attack that hit him at the most critical point of the 2010 season), but also tactical, because it removes a credible backup from Denver’s bench.

That could become a serious issue for Denver, if Manning’s bolted-together neck can’t tolerate repeated hits from the side, which he’s sure to be subjected to. And now Denver has lost Tebow as well, to the Jets, so the hugeness of the gamble Elway and Bowlen are embarking on here with their Manning Plan is even more risky given that they’ve lost their backups and are going to have to seriously address that issue. If Manning is truly healthy and returns to form, brilliant move. But if he’s not his old MVP self and gets pressured and hit in the pocket, Denver’s huge gamble could blow up in their faces. This will be interesting, that’s certain.

Quinn couldn’t beat out Tebow or Orton for the starting QB job. It will be really sad if he’s holding Palko and Cassels clipboards at the end of season.

Peyton Manning is in a position to get both the best fit and the most money, Brady Quinn isn’t. You can get whatever you want when you are the best at whatever you do with an impeccable record (on and off the field and in the locker room). Whether fair or not, Quinn is a twice-over re-tread. He obviously can’t get the same treatment as a Peyton Manning.

So Quinn didn’t work out in Cleveland but I’m pretty sure he’s the only Browns QB to beat the Steelers in the last 10 years. So for that reason alone I wish him nothing but success in KC.

Quinn’s career was derailed by incompetence (Derek Anderson…really?), bad luck, and not enough hard work on his end. He never had a chance do anything…it’s tough to develop as a QB if you don’t have a chance to play.

I think he could have been a better QB if allowed to take his lumps in the first year or two…but the powers that be said “Derek Anderson is the answer to our problems….”

I always liked Quinn coming into the NFL, but there has to be a reason why he threw for so many teams and wasn’t given an offer. I guess he should practice harder before he just becomes a never was.

I’d like to see Brady get a real chance to play. You can’t get a realistic assessment from his extremely limited and spastic play at Cleveland. The way they (Browns) handled their QB’, well that’s why their record was what it was. The coaches did a horrible job in building confidence in their starting QB and it showed in the productivity, not to mention they had no line, no run game etc. So shows what you got Quinn and be ready for your chance cause this may be your last. Good Luck I hope you prove all your critics wrong.

Why does every single article have to have a sarcastic, passive-aggressive tone to it????
He has always been a gentleman and is starting a new job where he might have an opportunity.

No matter what he does this blog puts out a very unprofessional article so they can get hits from readers who also like to kick someone when they are down and or not had an opportunity that worked out.

I wish Quinn the best even though he didn’t work out in Cleveland. Maybe he can chance, “Now I’m done.” to “Now I get it.” He’s got a shot, and as an NFL player that is all you need or 18 inches of daylight according to Gayle Sayers. (thank you NFL Films for getting this 35 year old info about players who played long before I was born)

Quinn will now be reunited with coach Romeo Crennel and new offensive coordinator Brian Daboll, both of whom worked with Quinn in Cleveland. It actually gives Quinn a bit of an edge over incumbent starter Matt Cassel.

Maybe Quinn can work his way up so that Romeo can flip a coin like he did in Cleveland to determine the starting QB. Great evaluation RAC. And, isn’t it ironic that Quinn and Hillis will be low cost teamates.
