NFL Network’s Michael Lombardi reports that the Patriots have agreed to terms on a contract with free agent guard Robert Gallery.

Coach Bill Belichick was high on Gallery leading up to the 2004 NFL draft, and Tom Curran of Comcast SportsNet New England wrote in May of 2011 that the Pats were still “enamored” with the former No. 2 overall pick. While Gallery has since changed positions from tackle to guard and turns 32 before the season, at the very least he can add veteran depth to the interior of the Patriots’ offensive line.

Gallery has become increasingly injury prone late in his NFL career. He’s missed 18 games over the past three seasons.

The Seahawks cut Gallery on March 14.
