When Dez said that his mom works for his dad, Ireland should have said “Doing what?” Not ask if she was a prostitute. He should know better, he should know that in today’s overblown media coverage, that statement would be taken out of context and he would be blasted on every media outlet out there. His image is more damaging than his actual personality or demeanor. Perception is reality, and his perception is not that good right now.

-------------------

No, Ireland should have not asked anything and focused on what Dez Bryant would be payed to do... Play football! There is no reason to ask what his mother or father does, they are not the ones who will be playing for him. Instead, he should have asked how Dez planned to use his finances, as that seems to be an issue that can impact his ability to play football... as in serving time for not paying his bills...

OK, what we have here is a target rich environment of simpletons. Sapp and Porter. Really?! And just because you don’t understand the moves management makes doesn’t mean they are wrong and you are right. “Wisdom is justified by her children” as the saying goes. Let next season play out before you judge.
-----------------------

You are quoting the bible (Luke 7:35), the exact quote is:

For John the Baptist didn’t spend his time eating bread or drinking wine, and you say, ‘He’s possessed by a demon.’ The Son of Man, on the other hand, feasts and drinks, and you say, ‘He’s a glutton and a drunkard, and a friend of tax collectors and other sinners!’ But wisdom is shown to be right by the lives of those who follow it.

The fact that the dolphins have been the bottom of the barrel during Ireland's watch, shows as much wisdom as a man quoting the bible before instructing people to judge.

May I suggest that you quit reporting on anything that Warren Sapp, Charles Barkley, Chris Carter or Merill Hoge says? They are all complete knuckleheads and I feel way stupider after reading their opinions.
-------------------

If your grammar is a starting point, stating that you" feel way stupider" doesn't exactly give you a ringing endorsement about your credibility.

I'm not feeling more stupid after reading this comment -- nor should anyone else.

And to consider Hoge or Carter a "knucklehead", both of those guys have forgotten more about football and overcoming challenges in life than you'll ever experience.

Everyone of you that think Ireland should be fired show your ignorance to the situation. If Dez's daddy is a pimp and his momma works for his daddy? what do you think that sounds like? Fact is most of you that dont like Ireland is because he is white and he made a comment regarding a black man. Its ridiculous. As far as for Porter and Sapp. Now there is two decent human beings full of love for men of all races. lol. Both loud mouth jokes who somehow think people really care what they say.

Reading all the Ireland hate… it makes me wonder how much of the Dolphins woes are due to the GM & how much of it is due to the owners.

There’s been talk that the Jake Long over Matt Ryan choice was mainly an economic one. Supposedly the Fins didn’t want to pay 1st round QB money for Ryan. If true, that was not a GM decision. That’s a decision made by the owners. And that’s bad news, because you can’t fire an owner. Just ask Oakland.

(Not that Jake Long is a bad player, of course. He’s an amazing player. But he can’t win games for you the way that a QB like Matt Ryan has in Atlanta.)

*** this was a Parcells (FAT TUNA) decision, not owner related. The fat Turd you see on TV, yeah him.

Good write up on the state of misery we are all experiencing here in sunny SoFla.

This so-called GM Ireland is completely unaware of what is going on. Self awareness? No Clue what that is.

One question for these dim wits;

DO YOU HAVE A STINKING PLAN, or are we just throwing shat at the board hoping something sticks?

Thank God for the MIAMI HEAT!!!!!!

Oh yea, can Pat Riley run two franchises?
Jus saying...

HOLY COW. so they whiff on fischer because he cant have full control! Better to not have a career 500 something winning percentage guy thats has never drafted a pee wee team(watch him fail in St Louis) He kept bradford instead of RGIII? Mistake #1. And anyone ever think the Flynn visit was courtesy thing because Philbin liked him but never really wanted him as a QB? Lets face it if they wanted him they could have had him by matching Seattles offer. Like the Lions got Mitchell, the Cardinals got Kolb and the Chiefs got Cassell worked out well for them didn't it. And they whiffed on Peyton along with 10 other teams BIG DEAL. As for the Marshal trade rumor has it he was a locker room problem and can't stay out of trouble. led the league in drops too!! Draft Ryan Tannehill with the No. 8 pick in the draft, Pick the SC WR in RD2 get tebow for a 4th to be a H-Back and we will see you in the Playoffs next year. Ireland is doing a fine job and they are not trying to fix this thing in one swoop(Fischer not getting full control) Its ashame all you lemmings just follow the headlines on here and just pile on with no clue!

As for the Marshal trade rumor has it he was a locker room problem and can’t stay out of trouble. led the league in drops too!!

Reading all the Ireland hate... it makes me wonder how much of the Dolphins woes are due to the GM & how much of it is due to the owners.

There's been talk that the Jake Long over Matt Ryan choice was mainly an economic one. Supposedly the Fins didn't want to pay 1st round QB money for Ryan. If true, that was not a GM decision. That's a decision made by the owners. And that's bad news, because you can't fire an owner. Just ask Oakland.

(Not that Jake Long is a bad player, of course. He's an amazing player. But he can't win games for you the way that a QB like Matt Ryan has in Atlanta.)

sapp and porter have the 2 most irrelevant rings ever,

sapps SB win was with Jon Gruden coaching his former team/system in a SB, it was all Gruden,

if what you speak is truth, then trent dilfer is a far superior qb than dan marino... Ask Dan Marino, or Jim Kelly if they would mind an "irrelevant" Super Bowl ring......
As far as Sapp goes, isnt he considered among the greatest D tackles ever...? Great players dont win irrelevant super bowls, but great players often dont win super bowls..
It would be better if you just dont post on here again...

I happened to see this yesterday, and they definitely were piling on pretty hard. They basically said no player wants to go there because of Ireland. They brought up the Dez thing, and they questioned Ireland's experience.

They both came off as idiots, though, IMO, especially Porter, who hasn't learned the rules of what you say on TV and what you don't, evidently.

I disagree. I think the problem starts and ends with Ross. Harbaugh and Fisher didn't want to go there. Would they have given the Dolphins more of a chance if Ireland didn't have a presence there?

Saying Ross has swung and missed on a lot of big names is not accurate enough. They lost out on those coaches because of Ireland and they are likely losing out on players because of this guy as well.
