Denver should really consider keeping Tim for at least a year.

If they do trade him which is most likely, if Jacksonville wants him and Tim would like to play there ( Which we all think he does ) make that happen.

In front of those hometown fans you know Tim is going to take it to another level.

Tim will bring millions of dollars and sell that stadium out every home game. He will most likely lead you to the playoffs and put Jacksonville back on the football map.

dkhhuey:

Sorry fella, that doesn't work. At its very root, the only thing that is going on here is that John Elway doesn't believe that Tim Tebow is any good and is trying to replace him with someone better. That is something that happens every day in the NFL and is part of the game/business.

The problem is that Tebow's own fans won't let it be routine business. Tebow MUST start, he MUST be immune from criticisms of his performance, or ELSE he is being persecuted for being THE ONLY RELIGIOUS PERSON WITH GOOD MORALS WHO IS A POSITIVE ROLE MODEL IN THE NFL.

Don't you realize that for the last season, people have accused Elway of being an anti-Christian bigot, wanting to sabotage Tebow's career because he was jealous of Tebow, or both? Do you BLAME Elway for ending that nonsense by getting the guy out of town? (OR BY SHOWING THOSE PEOPLE THAT HAVE SPENT THE LAST YEAR ATTACKING HIS COMPETENCE AND CHARACTER WHAT TEBOW'S REAL VALUE AS A PLAYER WHEN NO ONE GIVES UP ANYTHING OF VALUE IN A TRADE FOR HIM?)

Either way Elway was going to upgrade the QB position. He has a great defense and offensive line, running game and special teams ... really all they need to contend in a weak AFC (and a terrible AFC West) is another guy to catch passes, which they can get in the draft or free agency. Missing this window by sitting around and waiting for Tebow to learn to run an NFL offense AND fix that terrible delivery of his would have been idiotic.

The only question was whether Tebow was going to get a chance to stick around, improve and earn another shot. And you had better believe that had Tebow ever come out and said "Guys, calling Elway an anti-Christian bigot because he isn't impressed with my going 2-8 for 25 yards this week against Kansas City is over line so please stop it!" or "I do not support the billboards, Kyle Orton is our QB and this campaign is undermining the authority of coach John Fox and harming team unity" or anything like that at any time, Elway would be glad to let him hang around for $1.1 million next year because it is the path of least resistance. Now is going to have to deal with trading the kid (for practically nothing) and finding 2 backup QBs instead of one, especially if he can't find anybody that he likes in the draft.

And will people quit claiming that Tebow didn't get any support in Denver. If Denver wanted Tebow to fail, they would have said "Here, run the same offense that Kyle Orton did, and make the same throws that Orton and Quinn can make." The guy wouldn't have had a chance. He would have been on the bench, never to play again, in 3 weeks. I bet Fox and Elway wish that they HAD simply kept the same offense and let Tebow fail than put in that gimmick offense and STILL be accused of not supporting him anyway!

Folks, it is almost finally over for Elway, and you better believe that he is extremely happy about it.

To say I was not a Tebow fan is an understatement but after all of this, I am starting to root for the guy. I could do without all of the god-boy stuff, but in the end, all this kid wanted to do is be successful and a decent human being!

Did he ask for the gagillion minutes of ridiculous over exposure heaped on him? No, that was the media's obsession and they drove the other population outside of Fla to tire of their nauseating coverage. All he did was go to college and excel on the field, in the classroom, and keeping himself out of bad situations.

He did nothing but be a winner at everything he did. He got drafted when they said he wouldn't and despite all of the lack of support shown by his coach and GM, he went out and lifted a dead team and got them closer to the Superbowl than anybody would have guessed.

Being a Charger fan (pains me to admit that at this point), I truly do not like Elway for a ton of different reasons, but he has certainly elevated his amazingly high douche rating with the way he has acted as a GM and especially the way he treated Tebow. I would love nothing more than to see karma get some payback!

Not sure why Denver doesn't keep him so he can learn under one of the best....or is his contact too large for a bench warmer. He is not ready to be a starter and needs to sit behind a great QB as others have and went on to be successful. Don't think being the starter of a team is going to get him there. Just look at the comparison between Alex Smith starting right out of college and Aaron Rodgers sitting behind Brett Favre. They are miles apart in their success.

Just Tebow will NOT fill seats. A winning Tebow would, but not just Tebow. With that logic you might as well put Miley Cyrus in a QB to attract fans.

You give Americans too much credit. We have a lot of ignorant fools here. Hell, we elected George W. Bush. Twice.

Tebow fans:

Few people are criticizing Tebow because of his religion and character. They are criticizing him because he can't play QB. Tebow fans want Tebow to continue playing QB no matter how he performs so he can be your culture war role model figure. Well, that is what the public speaking engagement circuit is for. The NFL is for guys who can help teams win.

And Tebow fans don't "really" want a good role model anyway. Why? Because there are plenty of good role models in the NFL. The NFL is full of evangelical Christians. A huge percentage of NFL athletes come from the Bible Belt (basically the SEC, Big 12, most of the ACC too), were raised in and still attend church, were members of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes in college, have charities etc. You guys just PRETEND that Tebow is the only decent guy in the NFL as your EXCUSE for supporting him NO MATTER HOW POORLY HE PLAYS.

If it was about supporting good Christian role models, you folks would have been supporting and rooting for Brian Dawkins long before Tebow got to Denver. The Broncos aren't bringing him back either. Where is the outrage over that? A lot of you probably don't even know or care about the Dawkins situation.

So please making all these references to Michael Vick and claiming that you are starved for NFL role models. You are just Tebow fans. Period. I personally hope Tebow picks up the NFL game, but the truth is that had Tebow made better choices while he was in Denver, he'd have that opportunity as Manning's backup. It is precisely because Tebow sat and allowed his fans to pressure his coach and trash Elway and was perfectly willing to benefit from that ugliness and get his job in that fashion - instead of telling his fans to pipe down, issuing a public state of support for Orton/Fox/Elway and disassociating himself from the nonsense - that Elway can't wait to ship the kid out of town instead of letting him sit on the bench at least for this season when he will have only a $1.1 million base salary. The Broncos will take a bigger cap hit by trading him than by keeping him, and that shows you how furious Elway got at the nonsense last year. Tebow didn't ask for it, and it isn't all his fault or responsibility, but had he handled it better, he'd have at least next season in Denver to demonstrate that he can be their QB of the future after Manning retires.

Sorry, Tebow fans, but those are the facts.

Tebow fans:

Few people are criticizing Tebow because of his religion and character. They are criticizing him because he can’t play QB. Tebow fans want Tebow to continue playing QB no matter how he performs so he can be your culture war role model figure. Well, that is what the public speaking engagement circuit is for. The Broncos beat a Steelers team that had a crippled QB and no starting Defensive Linemen from late in the first quarter on. Remind me of how Tebow looked against a Patriots team that was close to full strength. If memory serves, Tim was something like 3 of 10 for 28 yards in the first half of that game.

Does that go for every player, baseball football basketball that blesses himself prior to a play or points to the sky after making a play? How bout the singers/rappers who thank their Lord and Savior at any award show?
What scares you about a clean cut kid with his priorities in line that you single him out?
Maybe if he put a bullet in his leg or killed dogs for his entertainment you would find him a more acceptable athlete?

I think prior poster just meant to say that every time someone asks a question, the question doesn't necessitate a "I don't know how to answer for my sub %50 percent completion rate so I'll just 'Thank my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ whom all things are possible'."

Why does PFT continually try sell this kid. If he played for my team I'd be extremely tempted to not watch, and focus on my players on my fantasy squad instead.

He just isn't the answer at QB for NFL teams.

One might argue "well he took the Broncos to the divisional round in his first year as QB".

Ya, well... then that team promptly moved on because he couldn't get them to the AFC Championship. Regardless of getting a game away, in the game that would have got them there he didn't come anywhere close.

As soon as Denver could move on they did.

No fan wants to watch their team nose dive, and that's exactly what whoever trades for this kid is going to do.
