Jacob Tamme will visit Broncos

Atlanta Falcons v Indianapolis Colts

One member of Peyton Manning’s old band is headed to Denver to talk with the Broncos about joining his new band.

Jason La Canfora of the NFL Network reports that Jacob Tamme’s visit with the Seahawks ended without a signed contract and that Tamme is now on his way to Denver. The tight end caught 67 passes for 631 yards and four touchdowns when he played with Manning in 2010 as an injury replacement for Dallas Clark. He wasn’t nearly as productive in 2011, but, then, neither was anyone else in Indianapolis.

Clark is a free agent as well and there’s been much speculation that Manning would like to continue his working relationship with the veteran tight end. There’s no word about any Clark visit to Denver as yet. Tamme’s visit doesn’t mean that Clark won’t make his way out to Denver, but it could mean that the Broncos like Tamme’s youth and shorter injury history as they start building their offense around Manning.

Jeff Saturday is still slated for a visit with Denver this week, but he’s heading to the Titans first.
