@percyharvinsback & contra74 its obvious most Minnesotans don’t support this team if u tards did there would have been a stadium built years ago. I know for a fact I’m a better, bigger, and more knowledgeable fan than u 2 and probably most up there in the worthless state of minnesooota.

The only problems with that analysis are that Sullivan was not a Pro Bowl center last year, McKinnie did not play for the Vikings last year, and Hutchinson played as well as he could at his advanced age. Otherwise, you’re spot on.

Though I would still rather see Charlie Johnson moved to RT and bring Loadholt inside to guard where he could dominate…….My concern with Loadholt at guard is he just might be too big for Ponder to look downfield.

I believe you are right. Ponder does not have a rocket arm to deliver those long TD passes so it does appear they are building a possession based offense. I feel it would be great to have Kalil to give Ponder the time needed to make those throws.

This is a great move since they need a guard and he can play guard well, and be available as a backup tackle in a pinch.

If they draft Kahlil that would make for a pretty decent line. Though I would still rather see Charlie Johnson moved to RT and bring Loadholt inside to guard where he could dominate. I think most RT’s could outplay Loadholt but inside a man that big would do some damage.

But they still need, need, need a good corner. Taking Claiborne 3rd overall would have everyone screaming retarded move but if this team doesn’t get better CB play then they’ll again neutralize their terrific pass rush with lack of skill outside.

I hate to rain on your parade, Vikes fans, but this guy isn’t going to help you much. His most extensive playing time for us was in 2010 when our starting RT was hurt. He’s not all that great. He’s a decent run-blocker, but not so much on pass blocking. If he’s blocking Suh, Ponder is gonna get hit hard and often.

Schwarts is a nice pickup, Still I really hope they draft Kalil. The Vikes would be pretty stout on the left side of the line. And if Loadholt comes to camp in shape that O line would be better than last that’s for sure. I have no problem with under the radar FA pickups Splashy High buck FA won’t make you a instant playoff team! Having better than average backups makes more sense!

Sad to see him leave Carolina, but he should do well in Minnesota. That said, you guys definitely should play him at guard instead of tackle (he’s a rotational tackle, but he’s a pretty beastly guard). Draft Kalil and you guys might field an O-line for once!

The Vikes will probably make another boneheaded move and let a probable pro bowl LT by them… Then use the pick on D-line, or trade. Can’t pass up to affect a stud tackle can have on the line.

I agree with this move and we HAVE been needing improvement on the O line. What I DON’T get is getting rid of Herrera and keeping Loadholt. Phil has been nothing but a bane on our offense, consistently picking up penalties and dropping blocks.

If he is truely 100% healthy he could be a steal for the Vikings from what ive read about this guy hes a beast in run blocking and solid is pass protection, but is one of those under the radar type of guys. I just hope the Vikings can trade back and still get either Kalil or Reiff while picking up an early 2nd rd pick. They could get any 2 of these guys who would be instant starters and fill a need. Wr A. Jefferey, CB A. Dennard, LB L. David, CB S. Gilmore, or SS M.Barron. There’s still hope for this team if they make good decisions in the draft. Remember they lost 7 games by 7 points or less!

I don’t know much about this guy but he has to be an upgrade. With Kalil I think we will have a solid a line as we’ve had in years. I like the way Speilman is methodically rebuilding this team instead of pissing money all over town for free agents that get paid then under perform.

Herrera was a good guy who worked his way through the system to a starting role. Not great, but good. Injuries/concussions led to his release. Kalil, Schwartz, Sullivan, Fusco, and Loadholdt in a contract year. Our o-line is not going to be great, but it’s definitely looking good!

You guys say what you will….Teams are built up front first. Sign OL, TEs, Lead Blockers? What wrong with that? Take the pressure of Ponder with a good running game and protection. Draft Kalil, or Mo Claiborne. Cutting Remi was addition by subtraction for the D-line, There are still pretty good LBs to be had to help the defensive front seven. Sounds good to me!
