They can’t sue, can they? It would be admitting they were colluding previous to the uncapped season. They would be opening themselves, along with the League up to tremendous liability.

Levying a punishment of $36 million against the cap is significant enough that it should have been brought up for vote among all owners. The fact that it wasn’t, and that Mara had to push this through in some secretive process on the Management Council under the cloak of darkness, indicates Snyder and Jones might have some sympathetic ears at the meetings.

Boy talking about envy…these Baltimore fans have second city envy, they want to be the most powerful city in the world but have to take the backseat to OLD DC…so what Flacco has been to the playoffs 4 times in 4 years? What does he have to show for it??? At the end of the day we still have 3 Lombardi’s to your 1 and that one 1 actually belongs to the Cleveland Browns not the Baltimore Browns…

What the league “warned” the Cowboys/Redskins to do is abide in the illegal activity of price fixing. They can no more punish the Cowboys/Redskins for refusing to participate in it as they could punish them for refusing to participate in a murder or drug traffic.

Let me school you since you don’t know/understand this. Smalltimore had a team (Baltimore Colts) from 1947-1983 when the city of Baltimore decided that it wasn’t worth keeping the team around to build them a new stadium. So YOU ALL lost your team because of your tiny minds. You all didn’t have football because you all were too interested in heroin and venereal diseases. When Irsay packed up and left; all of smalltimore decided it was all Jack Kent Cook’s fault for smalltimore not having a team anymore. Smalltimore residents and fans bitched and moaned for something they had complete control over. All the residents had to do was build the colts a new stadium and continue on a proud tradition. It was easier to complain about how the league and the Irsay’s did them wrong rather than do the one thing the owner of YOUR team wanted and build a stadium. The residents and fans of smalltimore were absorbed with the success and happiness of Redskins fans and the team itself, and most of them allowed this to consume them. People from smalltimore to this day hold a grudge and are literally angry that DC had so much success when the colts cut and run rather than stay in that crap hole of a city. You can hear it in smalltimore people’s voices how bitter, angry, and jealous they are of DC having a franchise that never left, and had success through good times and bad. Then in 1996 the city of smalltimore decided that it would be a good idea to promise to build a stadium to get a team back, and ever since then smalltimore has done a good job running a franchise. But to say that DC has had a team and smalltimore hasn’t is just idiotic and completely false. You not remembering anything before 1996 is ok. Its 75 years and 5 Championships by the way. We do have 2 NFL championships in addition to the Super Bowl Championships. Where as smalltimore has one Super Bowl Championship because they allowed their team to pack up and move to Indy because they were so small minded. This included your league championships and any other accolades the Colts franchise had collected along the way. Football didn’t start when the Super Bowl came along pal, so if you are going to say we have 75 years of proud tradition and glory as you stated above don’t forget to mention our 2 league championships and 3 Super Bowl Championships. I know this is tough for you because of your tiny mind, but please try. By the way……..Purple is a hideous color, and Edgar Allen Poe wrote one stinking poem about that hideous city, you all shouldn’t have named your team after it. It is literally a flying garbage pale.

Never underestimate Dan Snyder and his money. Like him or not, he’s a powerful guy with more money than anybody else. No way he just bends over and takes it. They definately have something planned. As big as an A-hole as he is, he is the one guy you don’t want to stab in the back. He has little man syndrome and will flex his wallet anyway he can to get his way.

Aren’t all contracts approved by the league office before they are considered final. So they approved the contracts that dumped salary into an uncapped year but now want to penalize the teams that did it?? Makes absolutely no sense.

Show us where this “warning” was written?? It was never written and given to teams as a rule. If it were then it would be illegal and the NFL would be marched right into court by the players. So, you Sir are an idiot, and flat out wrong. The Skins and girls broke no rules. They didn’t heed to a “gentleman’s agreement” which was their choice. It was a total of 3 players for the Skins and the cowgirls. So this “loading” you speak of was not that egregious of an infraction that deserves a 36 million dollar cap hit. Haynesworth was 21 mil, and Hall was 15. There is the 36 million most of which to a player that is out of the league. Do you really want to punish a team for a previous regimes mistakes????

There was collusion among the owners to follow a policy during the uncapped year. The Redskins and Cowboys might sue and they might win. Of course Dallas will never see another Superbowl. If Dallas does not join the Redskins in their lawsuit the legal action will be weakened. There is no penalty to businesses that act in violation of anti trust laws unless there is an injured party and the players have already agreed not to take action against the league in this matter.

If Washington acts alone they will be in a tough situation.

How do you try to steal money from the two most profitable franchises in the sport and two of the top 3 franchises in the country. The NFL and competition is better when the Redskins and Cowboys are actually contenders the NFL draws most of their profit from the rivalries in the NFC East and AFC East so to take money away from your money makers for no reason is completely idiotic.

The league should have had their ducks in a row. Skins and Boys worked the system the best way they could within the rules. Sounds like other owners are bitter that some FO brass did their due dilligence.
