Time for the NFL Network to demonstrate some integrity and fire Sapp.

Nothing could be further from the truth.

A snitch is a derogatory form for informant , who gains the trust of a mark, then will turn on them, hence the street slang; “snitches get stitches”

a whistleblower, is someone from an institution that identifies wrong doing that could cause physical harm or could discredit an existing government or its credibility.

The two are purposely interchanged to discourage identifying wrong doing in furtherance of a criminal enterprise that benefits one group of people who remain silent.

Hence, “snitch” can be applied to a police officer who knowingly identifies racism, profiling, corruption within his or her department….or a U.N. peacekeeper identifying rape or drug trafficking within the boundaries of their jurisdiction.

Funny, I didn’t think he had any credibility to lose in the first place.

Regardless, whomever let the NFL know about the Bounty program still continuing has my respect. Tough to step forward until you realize you need to do so to protect your peers. Then, not so hard.

There is no honor that arrives by being a member of the “code of silence” group.

Silence isn’t tolerated by law enforcement if a spouse knows that what his/her partner is doing falls into certain unlawful categories. Here we have a conspiracy to cause bodily injury that falls way outside any concealment protection that might be associated in some circumstances with a marriage.

Holy cow … this isn’t the mafia, it’s the NFL.

Sapp has outed a cover-up co-conspirator. Shokey is a co-conspirator, not a hero for being a non-snitch.

A whistle blower is not a snitch.

A whistle blower is someone who sees something wrong happening, does not like it, and notifys an authority figure.

A snitch is someone who is involved in and profits from something wrong going on then later either to save his own butt or because he is no longer profiting from the act he tells.

A states witness in a murder trial who has no criminal background and no involvement in violent crime is NOT a snitch; however, if that same individual is a part of the same street crime/violent crime and appears against the defendant in order to get out of a charge or for some other personal gain then he is a snitch.

This being said, if the person who blew the whistle was involved in the bounties then later decided to report it then they are a snitch. If they were not involved in the bounty program and became so appauled at the activity they they felt compelled to report it then they are NOT in any way a snitch.

Very well said. My two cents is that it could be Shockey, it could be anyone that was released, could be Ornstein, maybe the Saints decided to finally cut him off so he figured why not rat them out, could be Bush. I don’t think we will ever truly know nor do I think it is important. And I am against stupid lawsuits (too many of them in this damn country) but if Shockey is indeed innocent and can prove it w/out reasonable doubt, I would sue Sapp and the NFL Network. Last thought, the NFL Network should’ve never even let something like that air. What a joke. And yes, they need some real broadcasters/sports journalists and not just a bunch of washed-up, over-the-hill, retired jocks that have that mentality still and nothing positive to bring to the table. ESPN is a close second. Yikes!
