Former Eagles wide receiver Freddie Mitchell hasn’t caught a pass since 2004, but he keeps finding ways to get his name in the news.

Unfortunately for Mitchell, his name keeps coming up because he’s breaking the law. A couple of weeks after news of Mitchell’s problems with the IRS comes word that he’s currently in jail for failing to pay back child support. The Philadelphia Daily News reports that Mitchell is in an Orange County, Florida jail because of an Indiana warrant.

When Mitchell surrendered to authorities on the tax charges, he was released on his own recognizance until his arraignment on the condition that he rectify the child support issue. Mitchell was arraigned on the tax charges on Thursday and he’s in jail, so it would seem that he did not satisfy his end of that bargain. His court-appointed attorney on the tax charges knew nothing about the child support issue.

Mitchell was arrested on charges of failing to pay child support back in 2009. It is not known if his current predicament is a result of the same charges.
