IMO this would have been a very common practice in entire NFL… you think about steelers vs raven games… they are clearly trying to injure each other…

the saints are just poster child for this problem… but the problem exists in entire system…

Because my High School Defensive Coordinator always used to say “put a huge hit on the guy with the ball” or “Go out and knock someone the f*ck out” but that never meant one guy go low and the other go high and tear his legs off it was just simple football.

I am a huge Eagles fan and the Redskins and Eagles game with Buddy Ryan, the game that was called The Body Bag Game. Was that a bounty or was that just a plain old-fashioned football game? If we had a game like that now-a-days that team would have been out of the league because of how big this one story got.

I understand bounties are a disgrace to the game but there is a difference between a coordinator telling his team to knock the piss out of the opposing offense to where as a coordinator telling his MLB to break every QB’s neck

But I feel like all NFL players are going to be playing two hand touch from now on because of how big this story got from the media.

It’s just my opinion about it.

Make sure you “fans” wear helmets so you don’t hurt your heads jumping off those white high horses so fast.

I hope that the media will begin to make a bigger deal about the other teams where player have admitted to this behavior. What the Saints did is wrong and they should be punished, but all Saints fans and many other NFL fans are disgusted and irate at the disproportionate treatment of only punishing the Saints for this. I realize this is the biggest fear of the NFL because of potential liability issues and they wish it woul just go away, but is it fair to wreck one team and bury your head in the sand concerning other teams that are just as guilty?

Only if the media will start to focus on other examples will the NFL be forced to look at other teams and dispense some form of penalty on all guilty parties. Let’s be honest. The behavior is despicable and any team where it’s happened should be penalized as well.

Saints fans have a right to be upset because they are being made a sacrificial lamb while others get off scot-free. Any teams fan base would be mad about that. However, Saints players, coaches, and front office should be accountable for their part in a larger league problem. This isn’t just a Saints issue, even though God-dell wants you to think that so the NFL doesn’t get sued.

It has totally destoyed the “feel good” taints story, but too bad. The taints are the only team to LIE to Goodell for 3 years, told him they WEREN’T doing it (LIES), the GM told the owner he would take care of it (LIES), the head coach said he had no idea it was going on (LIES), Vilma offered 10k to knock Favre out, they hit him high low-ILLEGAL-on and on.

The problem is, you want the NFL to investigate the “probability” that it went on with other teams. Not the way it works. The taints actions were so bad, with an “eff you” to the Commissioner in the form that they continued it, FOR 3 FREAKING YEARS, were told to END IT—-they DIDN’T!!!!

If a whistleblower can bring to the NFL office with credible evidence of other bounties, then an investigation , can , and will happen. Why? Because if it IS credible, then the NFL could be held liable for not doing anything.

Could there be 31 black eyes? Doubtful.
But, until other evidence comes up that other teams were as aggressive as the saints, you’re just assuming (and hoping).

If he had done what you suggested, then he would have gotten “Pete Rose-d”, triggering the lifetime ban long before gettting his Super Bowl ring with the Saints.

How long did this guy do this? Didn’t Peyton Manning also get hurt against Washington that same year? That may have been the beginning of his neck troubles.

Williams should be gone, permanently.

These folks are seriously bad for football and I hope they get what’s coming to them.

As a Vikings fan and a Brett Favre fan forever, these 4 make me sick. They didn’t need the money to try and disable other players for life or worse. I guess they just did it for fun.
