I did several plays @ the Phipps a long time ago. After the shows we went to a nice little bar that had either Act or Stage (something relating to the theatre) in the name of the place.

I’ll have to visit Hudson the next time I’m in the Twin Cities; always liked the place, good memories.

Excellent restaurants and bars, too. The town itself is growing by leaps and bounds and it’s just a madhouse downtown every night now.

Questioning the validity of championships in bygone years. And yes you are the ones bringing up ancient history so I figured it must be fair game.

Packer fans are always trumping up their 13 Championships, yet 11 of them were more than forty years ago. Half were before the Mikan Lakers and about the same time as the Gopher football championships. The Twins’ championships were only a few years before the much ballyhooed Favre Super Bowl you fans bragged about & relied upon for years before being fortunate enough to get one last year. Why are your championships then any more valid then the ones I mentioned?

While not reaching the Super Bowl the Vikings still only have two more losing seasons than the Packers over that same 20 year period (21 for the Vikings) and those were the past two season.

My point is about fans calling other teams losers while not owning their own history. You can’t crow about the successes and ignore the failures. Which, by the way Packer fans judge the Vikings, last year & the Super Bowl loss to Denver would qualify the Packers as losers then. Not in my book, but by their definition.

Hudson? I’ve got some great memories of Hudson. Getting carded the night before I turned 18 (yes it was that long ago) and going back to the bar after midnight (after another bar let me in their place). The Phipps Center still there? Good town Hudson!

Twins won it in ’87 and ’91. Wolves have never even won jack (George Mikan Lakers, dude?). Gopher football…hahaha… Theyhaven’t even won the Big Ten in almost 50 years. Hockey…yes, ’01 and ’02. I was there and got tear-gassed during the riot afterward.

What I do know, and was pointing out in my post, is Packer fans always bring up the failures of other teams while ignoring their own team’s history: A tremendous amount of losing and numerous championships when the best players weren’t even playing the game, only a handful of teams in the league and a time when there was a growth of new teams.

It’s okay to proud, but your team’s own history indicates arrogance should be avoided.

The Vikings haven’t been NFC Champions since 1976. Even a 34 year old man wasn’t alive to witness it.

They have never won the Super Bowl. Ever.

Really? It’s a FACT the GB fans are the most knowledgeable and dedicated in all of football? Please enlighten us on how you prove that or even come to that conclusion; especially when so many of them don’t understand their stock ownership.

Of course you leave out many other FACTS about your team that are a little less glorious; selecting only the good times and ignoring some hideous football in-between.

FACT:

The Packers were irrelevant for over a quarter century!

A 28 year period in which they reached double figures in wins only twice!

16 of the 28 seasons had six or fewer wins.

A 19 year period in which they had only two winning records.

A 25 year period in which they made the playoffs only twice (once with a 5-3-1 record during a strike shortened season).

A 24 years record of 146-201-9!

Outside of that lost quarter century they had another streak of 11 seasons in a row without a winning record. By contrast, the Vikings never went more than two seasons in a row of losing records (soon to end this coming fall) after their first three years as an expansion team.

Since the twelve game schedule was implemented the Packers have had 30 seasons of six or fewer wins; including 17 in a 28 year period. That’s 30 out of 65 seasons! By contrast the Vikings have had 13 in 51 seasons, five of which happened as an expansion team.

Half of the Packers Championships came when there were only a couple of handfuls of teams in the league. And three more when they had those handful of teams plus some expansion teams and the newly formed AFL.

And finally, the Packers are the only team in the modern era to have one loss during the regular season and not win a playoff game – OUCH!

Just keeping it real for you there buddy!

Oh by the way, I hope Collins recovery allows him to play the game again. It’s never a good thing when a good player’s career is cut short. If he can’t, I hope he leads a healthy life outside of football.

It is in complete contrast to the treatment Kory Stringer got by the vikings medical staff. Even after Stringer’s death vikings were caught taking steroid masking diuretics during training camp.

Some teams value their players and others don’t. The NFLPA should be more concerned about teams with poor medical care players.
