Ochocinco has “unfinished business”

chad-ochocinco2

Less than nine months after joining the Patriots, receiver Chad Ochocinco is ready to kiss the baby.

If “kissing the baby” is a good thing. (I can’t keep up with these new sayings.)

Fresh from a restructuring that chopped Ochocinco’s pay for 2012 from $3 million to $1 million, agent Drew Rosenhaus told Ian Rapoport of the Boston Herald that Ochocinco still has work to do in New England.

Chad has unfinished business,” Rosenhaus said. “He has unfinished business with the Patriots. They were very generous to him last year, and he’s interested in giving the team his best. He feels with an offseason, with a great offseason, the lockout hurt him, it’s a tough system, he’ll learn the system, he’ll get accustomed to it, and I think he’ll do a lot better. So, he’s excited. He’s ready to make an impact.”

Rosenhaus also said that Chad will participate in voluntary offseason workouts, something that Ochocinco didn’t do very much during his latter years with the Bengals.

It’s the right attitude. Even with a pay cut, Ochocinco won’t be guaranteed a penny unless he makes it onto the 53-man roster for Week One.

And then he can focus on his “unfinished business.”

Or, as some may put it, “unstarted business.”
