Getty ImagesLions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh is an influential man at his alma mater.
Before Nebraska hired Tim Miles as its basketball coach, Athletic Director Tom Osborne heard from Suh, who knows Miles through a mutual friend and wanted him to get the job. Osborne said Suh’s word carries a lot of weight.
“When Ndamukong calls, I always listen. And if I don’t listen,” Osborne told the Omaha World-Herald, “he’ll break my neck.”
Anyone who knows how universities work knows that the threat of breaking someone’s neck isn’t as much of an incentive to act as the promise of a multimillion-dollar donation. And that means Suh, who has donated $2.6 million to Nebraska, gets his opinions heard.
Even without having to threaten to break anyone’s neck.

Most overrated player in the league?
“break your neck, stomp on your chest, get drunk and crash into your house, whatever it takes, just hire my friend or else”!
Suh is a pig and highly overrated. I love when the Bears play them, they get to see what a real hard nosed D can do. Lions are tge fluff of the league.
Little early to start that stuff? Defensive Rookie of the year and sophmore slump. Stop hating because your team didn’t suck bad enough to draft him that high. He will bounce back this year. But remember he is a DT and not a DE. It’s a lot harder to post sack numbers aginst a Gaurd and Center, or Gaurd and Tackle, than a Tackle and maybe a TE +Tackle. Only a few in history have done it. Just saying……………..
It’s funny b/c he tries to hurt people! AmIRight?
Money talks.
Overrated?! Easily the dumbest thing I have ever heard in my lifetime. Best DT in the game, no contest.
For all the haters, just thought you might enjoy this piece of information: Suh played 94 FEWER pass snaps in 2011 than he did in 2010, yet he managed MORE QB pressures in 2011. And you KNOW defenses double-teamed him more in his second year than they did in his rookie year. Maybe some of you should find some better information (other than the number of sacks) to base your ignorant comments on.
After this headline, I’m thinking it’s time to guess the next Suh headline on this site.
Perhaps: “Suh throws kid through window.”
@bouchez9393 – he was not intoxicated at the time of his crash. Get your facts straight.
and if this situation puts you off, i can only assume that citizens united does too
Well, enough of that Saints nonsense, let’s go back to PFT’s favorite bad boy.
The dirty Lions. Yup.
Well let’s hope that this doesn’t lead to more “free falling”. Besides, I didn’t think he would “back down”.
Oh crap, wrong Tom…sorry.
Instead of threatening to break his neck, maybe Suh should offer Tom a ride.
Money or not, he’s still a jerk.
Looking forward to Suh bringing the pain in 2012!

Haloti Ngata?
Nice job leaving out part of the quote that makes it obvious that it was a joke.
will Eric Holder investigate this?
I knew when I saw the headline that this story would be written by MDS.
Nebraska and Suh are perfect for each other….just sayin’
Only 2 things ever came out of nebraska…
