APAdam Caplan reports that the Bengals have scheduled a free agent meeting with defensive tackle Amobi Okoye.
The visit will take place following this week’s NFL owners meetings.
Okoye, who’s still only 24 years old, tallied four sacks off the bench for the Bears last season. In Cincinnati, he could spell starting “three-technique” tackle Geno Atkins when Atkins needs a breather. The Bengals’ other defensive tackles are Domata Peko, Pat Sims, and Nick Hayden.
Okoye is the No. 99 overall player on the PFT Hot 100.

This would be a great pickup but if we get him i doubt we’ll draft any defensive lineman this year. We already have 10 which is what we used last season so they probably won’t add anymore except for camp bodies.
His age and athleticism make him a good rotational fit. Not a game changer by any means, but a nice compliment to a line looking to add some depth and production.
The Bengals have signed quite a few big uglies to stabilize the defensive line and improve the offensive line. Now they can use the draft to add more play makers to the young nucleus already in place. I’d like to see them get DeCastro and a corner in round one.
I like it! With our rotation, he could have a real impact. Sign him!!
I really don’t understand why the Bears aren’t bringing him back. Obviously he’s not going to command a large salary, and yet he produced when given the opportunity.
I can’t believe he’s 24, it feels like he’s been in the league for 7 years.
Would be a great pair with Geno Atkins on passing downs and acting as a reliever.
WHO DEY
if mike brown makes this happen, i might just take back all the stuff i said about him during the 90′s.
Bears could use this guy back
I remember when the Texans drafted this guy with the 10th pick overall with him being 19 at the time. I was livid. Looks like I wasn’t wrong.
Not a fan but I think that would be a great pick up now with that being said grab a corner in the draft a safety some o line help and another pass rusher to team with Dunlap and your good to go
I just assumed he’s gonna be a Bear this upcoming season. But the Bears used a second rounder on Paea last year.
Bears NEED to re-sign this stud! He’s an amazing player and fits very well with Lovie’s D.
Pretty nice one/two punch along with Geno Atkins
