Wait....is this a Packers fan mocking the Vikings for NOT signing FAs? is hypocrisy a subject taught in Wisconsin schools?

Hey brainiacs, if your team has a lot of compensatory picks, that means you lost good free agents and didn’t sign any. I’d rather my team didn’t get any compensatory picks.

---------------------

Brainiac? You clearly speak without any thought process or you just are that stupid. It doesn't mean you lost "good" FA's it means you lost starters ... based on playing time ... nothing to do with how good they are. If you don't sign many impact starters/players in F-Agency but your replace them with draft etc ... then that also doesn't mean your roster is swiss-cheese idiot.

Your about as smart as Goodell, apply for an assistant position with him you tool.

Few updates about Oakland ....

Al Davis has passed away, therefore your drafting for speed only jokes don't have any burn (pun) to them anymore.

Anywho the last speedsters he drafted have made up a scary WR core of Denarius Moore, Jacoby Ford and Darius Heyward-Bey who just caught on (pun intended) last year.

Oakland will be doing things with a normal chain of command ... and with some great minds making best interest decisoions for the fans and franchise, team.

Something new for Raider Nation that frankly came at the cost of Al's death ... and everyone knew the change would only come from his death.

Reggie McKenzie is a special man of character, talent and hard work. That has a long line of success in Player Evaluations of college talent and FA talent. The rest he soakled up in Green Bay from the great people he learned from.

i get a kick out of all the draft experts....bottom line the whole draft is a crap shoot, and history confirms it every year. From the first pick all the way down to MR irrevalnat, to the undrafted.

Right now there are more than 300 UFA just from last year alone unsigned. I am sure the raiders will sign a UFA OLB. Maybe Lawson.

With the draft they can add depth to the roster, in the draft at LB, and possibly along the line, and maybe even free safety. Then scour UFA's and undrafted, and create healthy competition in camp.... Bottom line the raiders really don't have many needs , just need quality depth.

I don’t know how this formula works but an additional 3rd, 4th and 5th for Raiders??

Holy jeez! That’s the kind of compensation that couple put your franchise ahead years if they do well with those picks.

But of course, it’s the Raiders so scratch that.

They’ll probably figure out a way to trade the picks for Usain Bolt.

Obviously this guy is not caught up with his current events. Al Davis passed in Oct. 2011- Big Reg is in charge now.

Can someone explain why the redskins didnt get anything for losing Carolos Rogers? He left to start every game and made the probowl. I dont get it.

If the Redskin signed a free agent from another team in 2011, it cancels out the loss of Rogers.

Correction on my previous statement, I forget it was based on previous years free agency...in which case those teams should be able to know what they're getting in the next draft by the time the current season even starts, unless not even the front offices know the formula. But I can see why they don't let teams know for sure...you don't want compensatory picks to influence free agency, especially if you're the players. Teams would deliberately let guys go and not sign others if they knew for sure they were getting good free draft picks.

@allheat -- NFL teams should have a pretty good idea about which comp picks, if any, they're going to get well before free agency begins. Some teams are clueless, but they shouldn't be.

@lifetimeskinsfan739 -- The Redskins didn't get any comp picks because they signed more qualifying free agents than they lost. They signed Stephen Bowen, Barry Cofield, Josh Wilson, Chris Chester, Sav Rocca, Keyaron Fox, Sean Locklear and Donte Stallworth. As convoluted as the formula is, shouldn’t they try to get this locked in before the start of free agency?
----------------------------------------------------------

You can't lock in the compensatory picks prior to free agency! The system is fixed already of course, and is based on the outcome of free agency losses & signings, particularly on the perceived quality of the free agents & their salary levels.

First off new regime secondly can't trade comp picks...lastly suck it!!

Guess the Texans evened out in free agency this year. So much talent is coming out of Houston. Funny to see where they all are going. You're welcome NFL.
Lol it doesn’t matter all of those teams’ comp. picks are in the last 3 rounds. Minnesota got two fourth rounders, highest value out of all of them. Quality not quantity, my friend

..…......................................................................................................
Hey genius the Raiders got a third fourth and fifth. I believe the third rounder was the highest pick awarded. Pretty sure a 3rd and a 4th trumps two fourths. Just pointing out the obvious. I would rather have the players we lost than the picks, but something is better than nothing.

So the Raiders have added starting QB Carson Palmer, probable starting RT Joseph Barksdale, backup RB Taiwan Jones, starting WLB Aaron Curry and backup QB Terrelle Pryor for the picks they don't have. And this is considered a bad thing?

That's 2 veterans and 3 rookies that got a head start on their NFL careers.

And they now have a 3rd, 4th, 2 5ths and a 6th to fill remaining needs.
