I could hope for nothing more. It’s too bad that the Vikings seem smitten with the idea of trading back, not up.

I would rather take a shot on Floyd then soooo much risk on Blackmon. Kalil is a major position of need and lowest risk. If Blackmon is a bust, the draft is basically a bust (see Lions), but if we trade a bit to move on Floyd all he has to do is be serviceable and we can justify it.

Only a couple teams in the league that would give a guy like Garcon that kind of money…and I think the Raiders are under new leadership so make that one team.

Thank you footballfanman , it’s obvious he missed that I mentioned YAC. All Redskins had zero YAC and zero td catches outside of the redzone last season which is why the offense constantly stalled, and difficulty putting up points.

Basically Garcon` contract is only $13.1 million in fully guaranteed money, via the $11 million signing bonus he received and only $2.1mil base for the 2012 season. How ironic is it that this same front office (minus Childress) decided to draft Jaymar Johnson in the 6th round of the 2008 draft instead of Garcon?

Johnson had 88 catches for 1425 yards and 10 TDs at Jackson State. Garcon had 175 catches for 2972 yards and 41 TDs at Mount Union.

Maybe if the front office would stop trying to be diamonds in the rough type drafters and just be solid drafters they would not be in this position in the first place.

Draft Kalil to protect Ponders blindside and give him some extra time. Our Offense will still be based around AP but only time will tell how he’ll recover from his ACL.

Rudolph and Carlson aren’t on the same level as a Gronk and Hernadez but I can see the Vikes running a similar style offense with these two huge pass catching TE’s. Personally I’d rather have Percy over Welker so I like that. Of course Ponder is no where near Brady but its at least something to try and mimick. Why not try it? It seems to work in NE and the core Vikings are all young. It may take a year or two but I can see it happening down the road.

If you’re going to spend that kind of money on a free agent, it needs to be on someone who has consistently produced high-quality results. Garcon has not.
