Getty ImagesDuring football season, ESPN presents every Monday night a fairly neutered version of Jon Gruden, the feisty, scowling, F-bomb-dropping former head coach of the Raiders and Buccaneers.
OK, completely neutered.
In the offseason, however we get a glimpse of the man known widely as Chucky, who breaks out his on-field persona when meeting with top draft prospects.
This year, he gets together with 10 of them, and the process begins Friday night at 7:00 p.m. ET, when Gruden’s session with Andrew Luck debuts.
On Monday night, Robert Griffin III gets the Gruden treatment at 9:00 p.m. ET.
A clip from the first show has been posted at the ESPN “Front Row” site.

This man needs to coach ASAP. People either love him or hate him, and that creates some great theater. He stinks on ESPN.
As Bart Scott would say:
“Can’t wait!”
The show looks like it might be interesting but do you need to be a college or professional player to understand it?
I hope he gets us back into coaching.
Can’t stand to look at this guy, will NOT listen to him on tv. Wish he would go away.
“Chucky” unleashing Rather Gruesome III. Make sure the kids are in bed before you turn that on.
^ I’ll make sure your mom is in bed before I turn her on
He is going to teach them how to throw a 2 yard pass on 3rd and 10. Thanks for the super bowl but no thanks for nothing after
Just in case you’re wondering, “Chucky” got his name from RB Harvey Williams in 1998. Harvey screwed up a play and when he came back to the sideline, Gruden started yelling at him. During a media session after the game, reporters asked about the exchange and he told them that Gruden looked like Chucky from from the horror films. The next day, “Chucky” was in all the headlines and it stuck.
babyhorsemorgan just got owned.
