Sounds Like Freeman might not make it as starter of all 16 games if he doesn’t improve….. According to the coaches statement , Freeman needs to either get it right or get gone! QB touches the ball more than any other.

Considering that it’s been well publicised that coaching staffs and players aren’t allowed to have contact yet due to the reduced offseason as per the new CBA lets hope he hasn’t talked to him about it.

Also while talking about Blount the comment was an obvious warning to all players about ball security…
“No one who touches the football will get touches if they don’t protect the football.”
That comment isn’t just Blount, that includes Freeman and his interceptions, Williams/Winslow and their fumbles.

As a Panther fan, I really hope you are right. If Schiano had taken Rutgers to 4-5 BCS bowls in the hideous Big East, I’d be a lot more impressed with him.

Sure did, still think it’s a bad move. Parcells is one thing, a rookie coach is another. After swinging and missing on what 4 coaches, we will see how well Schiana does down there. He has ‘Singletary’ written all over him except Singletary had enough respect to have the locker room’s attention for 2 years. Like I said, we will see about Shiana, doubt he gets 2 years of auto-respect though…

The word is gravitas. Parcells can address Glenn in that manner because he has earned it, he has won at this level. He had the respect of his players and the gravitas to do it. Schiano is a college coach from a mediocre program. Nobody is saying he cant be tough, its just asinine to start your tenure by calling out your players. A new coach should give every player a clean slate.

It’s a fact….. no matter how, when, or where he said it. You cannot put the ball on the ground.

I think Blount could still do marvelous things for the Bucs, especially given the holes that offensive line should start opening up this year for whoever gets the call.

Blount and Freeman both suffered from having the most anemic defense in the league. When you play from behind it’s easy to push too hard and start making mistakes.
