This article makes it sound like SF wasn’t ever really in the running. It even states that Denver, Tennessee, and Arizona were the finalists.

Peyton will reinjure his neck this year and that will be all for the Peyton Manning Show in Denver. Sorry – but Elway would need to spend gobs of money just to get in enough quality OL’s to save Peyton, then they wouldn’t have enough $$$ to attract quality WR, RB and plug a few holes on defense.

Look for Elway to become a player manager once Peyton goes down, or else they might bring Farve for another go.

Elway helped Shanny get his superbowls, now Shanny helps Elway get his win.
Once the RG3 deal went down, the meeting between Manning and the Shannys obviously turned from a Washington sales pitch to Manning asking Shanny what he thought of Denver. With Manning going to Denver, its pretty obvious what Shannahan told him.
That, plus I’m sure Shanny was happy to keep him out of the NFC.

Sorry, that offer was unenforcable. The owner may have offered it but couldn’t have put anything in writing until after Manning’s playing days were done. As long as Manning was playing, he couldn’t be given a piece of the organization per NFL rules regarding compensation by teams. The only way that deal could be done (at this time) is if Manning wasn’t going to play for the Titans and that defeats the purpose of the offer.

When it came to cap space, the Bronco’s were king and I have yet to hear of another team that offered Manning more money to play.

If the Bronco’s offense does good, Manning will get the credit.
If the Brono’s offense does bad, McCoy will get the blame.

The only way McCoy will be leaving is if he takes the blame for another failed season in Denver.

I’m sure McCoy is learning Manning’s playbook and not the other way around.

One sentence about the Cardinals. They do know how to keep their mouths shut in Phoenix. So far the story of how Peyton Manning got into Phoenix is unknown. Their was one flight that appeared right but was actually a medical flight. Kent Somers (AZ republic beat writer)went to the glendale airpark was stunned whent he wasn’t on board I suspect Michael Bidwell, who is a pilot, flew him in on a VFR flight plan which wouldn’t be tracked on the internet.
