Here's a good rule change, make the queer Lambeau Leap a 15 yd penalty like every other celebration.

However, if that happens then how would some of those packer fans ever get to rub the a** of a black man? Guess they'd have to go back to the farm animals...

Never understood why the NFL doesn’t have a DL like baseball. You see it too often that players are thrown onto IR and thus ending their season.

Should be a few DL spots (out 4-6 week slot), (out 6-8 week slot), and a (out 8-10 week slot) so teams can have thsese players for the stretch run or playoffs.
-------------------------------------------

Salary Cap.. Football has one Baseball doesn't..

Also Guaranteed salaries -- Baseball, NHL, NBA 100% .. NFL not so much..

Can be done.. The NHL would be a good example. You put people on reserve and get a credit on per game basis towards cap until injured player returns.. or use the Long Term Injured Reserve credit similar to NHL for guys out extended periods of time..

Would have to watch teams abusing the IR to save cap space.. i.e. putting players on IR who aren't injured. They already lie about injuries as it is. (See Pats - everyone questionable)

Sounds good to me. But why week 8? Why not week 10 or 12?

--------------

To stop people from dumping salary or teams from loading up on players jsut before the season is over.. Week 12 you would see teams out of it dumping salary to teams in the playoffs.. would upset the competitive balance thing.

Moving the trade deadline back a couple of weeks would be ok, but not to week 10 or 12. By that time some teams would know they have no chance of making the playoffs and would trade off guys in the last year of their contract that they aren't resigning.

For instance, Dwight Freeney is in the last year of his contract. If the Colts are 4-6 and know they aren't making the playoffs and know he isn't coming back next year so they trade him for a 5th round pick to a contender that is lacking a pass rush, that isn't really "fair". Most teams aren't eliminated from the playoffs after week 6 or 8, but by week 10-12 many are out of any realistic shot at the playoffs.

I hate the baseball "rent a player" idea. Go home with the girl you brought to the dance.

The IR rule definitely needs changed. With as many injuries that occur teams are forced to put guys on IR that would only be out 6-8 weeks. Since they are limited to a 53 man roster, they needlessly need to put guys on IR to have enough able bodies.

Regardless of how long they have been on IR, everyone should be eligible to come off IR for the playoffs.

Wow, they want to give everyone time to go through the changes. That's a change to how they have conducted business. I bet Dan Snyder would have liked to have been informed of a cap penalty well before 1hr before free agency opened up. Interesting.

I actually like ALL of these, the only change (as others have stated) might be going week 9 or 10 for the deadline. Make it more intetesting, like other sports. Another I would add, make a universal bye week, use that (mid season) for an all star deal. No need to play the Pro Bowl, nobody cares about it, instead have a weekend of skills challenges in different NFL cities each year.

The NFL does a few things wrong.
1.Trade deadline is too soon.
2.There is no NFL network or NFL sunday ticket on Time Warner Cable.
3.There is no DL in football as described by me earlier. 4.Thursday games are a joke with teams wore out or not having enough time to put a full weeks gameplan in. Only one road team won on the short week.
5. There's a team in Jacksonville rather than LA?

There are other rules the NFL is considering:

1. Forcing the New Orleans Saints to hire Rich Kotite as interim coach.

2. Making the Saints play the entire 2012 season with 5 defensive players.

3. Not punishing another NFL team AT ALL for having bounties.

Also there should always be a camera down the goal line.
