I couldn't agree more. I just a ol Razorback here who is a Cowboy, and used to be Colts fan. I have watched Colt McCoy thru college till now. This Guy could have won the Heisman in most years, this year for sure. He is much better the this rg3 guy. But as you stated he has never had any team around him. Everyone seems to think a great QB makes you a winner but in truth it is the great team that makes the great QB. Peyton Manning could not have won 5 games with the Browns last year in his best days. I for one love the Manning brothers, but any halfway football fan can clearly see Peyton is 4 leagues ahead of his brother. The Giants won 2 superbowls with Eli because there TEAM played outstanding. If McCoy had been QB of the 49ers or the Ravans, or Texans any of them would have won the Super Bowl. If Peytons Colts had ever had a DF, he would have had many more. Writers love to start who is the best at this or that position. But it takes a whole team to win football games not a few players.

As A Steeler fan living in Browns country I can say the the Browns are my #2 team. I think that Colt has never been given the supporting cast that even a mediocre QB would need to be mildly successful, let alone become a top ten QB in this league. He is a player. I hope the Browns use this draft to get a supporting staff, but frankly I have little faith in the Walrus.

It depends on what the offers were...

If the Browns agreed to trade the 2012 1st (#4), 2012 2nd (#37) and 2013 1st for Bradford... I would have taken that. Then draft RGIII 2nd and Blackmon 4th and still have the additional 2nd and 2013 1st...

1.) On pure talent wise, the Rams might have been getting the better QB anyway in RGIII
2.) RGIII would be A LOT cheaper with the new rookie scale.
3.) So they could be getting the better QB, and more cap flexibility... but also additional picks.

Dolphins and Redskins would also probably have been interested...

It all depends on the price...

thelmt82: The Browns had Tannehill in for a visit, inquired about Bradford's availability, and offered three ones for the opportunity to draft RGIII, but they're "fine" with McCoy?? Oh, that's right, you think their interest in RGIII was just a rumor, even though Holmgren said that the Browns' offer was just as good as the 'Skins' and that he was disappointed that the Browns didn't get him. WTF are you talking about?

“6 years in the NFL is an eternity. It didn’t take 6 years for Smith to become a solid player, it took SF 6 years to get an exceptional defense. Smith is still average at best.”

Oh I see. So it was the defense that led the league in 4th quarter comebacks last year with 6…. 4 of which were on the road.

Please don’t make comments about things you aren’t familiar with.

Maybe you shouldn't try and give too much props to a qb that led his team to 1 for 13 on 3rd down conversions in the NFC Championship game

Looks like some of you cannot read. The report says that they inquired about Bradford BEFORE they traded out of the #2 pick. So, with that being said, the reports that came out yesterday saying that they are "fine" with McCoy would be accurate. I'd also suggest that Bradford may be the only guy that they really went after at the QB position. I think the RGIII rumor was a smokescreen and that nothing was ever close to being offered- more for the dumb fans' sake than anything to throw that out there.

McCoy will be the starting QB in 2012. If he doesn't prove himself after being given some options (hopefully Blackmon, etc.) then they would be wise to look for a replacement. For now, the only real QB on the team that MUST be replaced is Seneca Wallace. That d-bag wants nothing to do with mentoring or helping McCoy. They should have let him walk instead of Delhomme last year. Delhomme was in his ear his rookie season while last year, Wallace was closer to the lockerroom than McCoy.

Lets see, your boy Flacco has Ray Rice, Boldin and T Smith to throw to and had.... 12 picks.

Colt McCoy had a 4th and 5th string RB most of the year, a converted RB turned rookie WR (Little) and a KR in Cribbs to throw to and had...11 picks.

"6 years in the NFL is an eternity. It didn’t take 6 years for Smith to become a solid player, it took SF 6 years to get an exceptional defense. Smith is still average at best."

Oh I see. So it was the defense that led the league in 4th quarter comebacks last year with 6.... 4 of which were on the road.

Please don't make comments about things you aren't familiar with.

Grossi is horrible.

His evaluation of the 2010 Steelers prior to the season as a team in serious decline - they won the AFC Championship.

His evaluation of the Steelers management in decline since Dan Rooney became Ambassador - he had no idea Art Rooney II had been team President since 2002.

His grade of the 2004 draft immediately after - Steelers were graded with an F, Browns an A. Steelers took Ben Roethlisberger, Browns got taken by Matt Millen.

AND THIS GUY HAD A HALL OF FAME VOTE?

No surprise here ... we Browns fans all know that the team's brass wants a new QB. The only surprise is that they didn't sign Matt Flynn. They apparently determined that he was no better than McCoy. I guess we'll see who's right. Regardless, it's clear that they don't believe in McCoy, and since he's still our starting QB, that means don't look for any progress this year. But what the heck, we've only been pathetic for about 20 years now.
