Getty ImagesThe Rams have been mentioned as a possible landing spot for Oklahoma State wide receiver Justin Blackmon in the draft, but they aren’t putting all their wide receiver eggs in that basket.
Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News reports that the Rams will host Jerricho Cotchery on a visit next Tuesday and Wednesday. Cotchery signed with the Steelers after asking for his release from the Jets last summer, but wasn’t able to make much impact in a deep Pittsburgh receiving corps. Cotchery caught 16 passes for 237 yards in 13 games last season, the fourth straight year that saw him finish with fewer catches and yards than the year before.
If Cotchery does wind up with the Rams, he would be reunited with offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer. Cotchery had his best seasons playing for Schottenheimer with the Jets, including back-to-back 82-catch seasons in 2006 and 2007. It’s hard to see what role he’d fill on a Rams team already well-stocked with possession receivers, but perhaps a reunion with Schottenheimer would bring something more out of him.
He’s the second receiver who used to call the Meadowlands home to catch the Rams’ eye this offseason. The team signed former Giant and Eagle Steve Smith last week.

I wish the Panthers would look at Cotchery. His numbers weren’t that great last year, but look at the depth the Steelers had at WR.
Come back to the JETS Jerricho!!!

Isnt he the defending WWE champion?
Everyone in Pittsburgh wants him back, but he’s still good enough to start for a handful of teams, and be the #3 WR on most teams.
