Steelers hosting Demetrius Bell

Earlier this week, Silva listed Bills tackle Demetrius Bell as one of the top remaining free agents.  The Steelers, who haven’t done much (or, more accurately, anything) in free agency, may have taken notice.

Scott Brown of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports that the Steelers are hosting Bell on Friday.

Bell, a seventh-round pick in 2008 and the son of former NBA great Karl Malone, has drawn interest from the Redskins, Cardinals, and Packers.

With Eagles left tackle Jason Peters rupturing an Achilles’ tendon, the other team in Pennsylvania could be the next team to kick Bell’s tires.

    Although he is Bell’s biological father, Malone never has acknowledged Demitrius as his son, and has never even met him. This is a sore spot for Bell, and I’m sure he would love for the sports writers to discontinue reminding readers of his painful lineage. Please stop. you’re rubbing salt in an open wound.

    Demitrius may be the only son of Karl Malone to make it to the NFL. Although we can’t be certain.

    Would love the Steelers to Sign this guy, anything that hurts the Eagles chances of signing a decent replacement for Peters, i really just want to see JPP and Osi coming off that left side and break Vick

    Bell’s mom was 13 when she was impregnated by Karl Malone (20) how the heck is he not in prison instead of the HOF???????
