I know many defense and prosecutorial lawyers who have worked in the trenches of litigation for decades because the love what they do. They laugh at anyone with more the a couple of such titles or awards because they’ve seen individuals spend more time pursuing them then actually producing any work.

Maybe you should move to North Korea. How can Sean Payton (you’d think after 1,000 articles you could spell his name correctly) be on the NFLPA Executive Committee when he isn’t even in the NFLPA? He’s a coach not a player!

Wasn’t a big fan of Goodell during the lockout last year, but D Smith appeared pretty arrogant & full of himself. Now he’s making another power play with his unwillingness to go to the league office & review the evidence. GROW UP.

Sounds like the commissioner’s office is playing some kind of word game here, attempting to paint themselves in a “brighter light” than they deserve.

Did the commissioner’s office provide “ALL” bounty investigation information to the NFLPA since March 2nd…OR NOT?

There’s no p;lace for unions anymore on this side of the world.

Why shouldn’t everyone have a copy of the evidence? Would you like to be persecuted based on evidence you weren’t allowed to see?

I’m not a union basher because I know it has its place in the workforce to protect their members from over-bearing and unfair labor practices. However, they’ve gone way beyond that (not just in the NFL) when they take the position that none of their members are ever guilty of anything, and in fact, are always victims.

Personally, I don’t see any reason the NFLPA should be involved in recommending any punishment. After the punishments have been handed down, then it can get involved in appealing those punishments on behalf of the players. That’s like putting the fox in charge of the henhouse.

In my opinion the NFLPA is an organization that defends illegal and unethical behavior. They have zero credibility in my mind. They’re a bunch of punks.

Unfortunately, that’s one of the downsides of a union labor force. No matter how awesome you are (or aren’t, as in this case), you’re all treated the same, or someone gets sued.

Well said! I am all for the athletes in most cases but it always seems the NFLPA is always trying to defend scumbags that shouldn’t be defended. Don’t get me wrong I know one of the most important jobs of a union is to protect its employees but when said employees are committing actual crimes they don’t deserve to get preferential treatment and should have to man up and face the consequences!
