Thanks for the Louisiana Senate trying to help New Orleans Saints because the NFL Commissioner is going off of hear say and the Saints have all the NFL Organizations against them like they are the only team in the NFL as they are saying that had a bounty program if there was one. The Saints are the best team in the NFL I know if you guys go on the internet you will see what Mr.Sean Payton, Mr.Mickey Loomis, coach Vitt.

Seriously?

What we do know, what the coaches have admitted, is that the coaches intended to pay for injuries and furthermore actively covered up that fact (lied) for several years.

In my opinion those are the most important facts and I do not believe they are in dispute.

***************************************************

again, we have uninformed rhetoric. let's look at the 'facts' homer.

greg williams admitted he ran a 'pay for performance' program while with the saints. note, nothing about pay for pain, bounty, blah, blah, blah. PERFORMANCE just as has been admitted to by other players and coaches on OTHER teams.

sean payton took responsibility for not being more diligent.

now i know this is where you bleeding heart hypocrites get lost and blur the line between your sorry team being able to beat the saints and praying goodell decimates them into submission, but learn the difference between ADMITTING GUILT and TAKING RESPONSIBILITY FOR SUBORDINATE'S ACTIONS.

cover up requires destroying evidence and hiding the fact that it ever happened. there was no cover up. they LIED! they NEVER tried to cover it up. they simply denied it existed. if they did try to cover it up i'm not thinking there would be all of this hardcore evidence the nfl has.

so in conclusion, since NONE of your facts or actually FACTS and since your opinion was based on said NON-EXISTENT facts, your opinion means absolutely SQUAT!

i will give you this, you make it completely too easy as your screen name says it all and gets the prize for the biggest oxymoron here today. congrats!

GO PACK! (and whoever is playing the bears!)

When anyone of the other 49 State legislatures passes the same resolution then I too will support some lienency for the Taints. Until then, I submit that the State with one of the worst educational systems in the U.S., highest poverty rates, lowest literacy rate, highest unemployment rates and highest redneck rates should have more important things for it’s legislature to do than throw it’s corrupt political weight behind it’s corrupt football team. Here’s lookin’ at you Louisiana.

nothing like uninformed rhetoric. that of which you speak sir, would be MISSISSIPPI. get your 'facts' straight and you just MIGHT have an intelligent argument.

I'm a New Orleans Saints fan and I'm proud of my team because there's no team in the NFL that are without some kind of skeletons in there closet. From pushing drugs, using drugs, murder, abusive to widest or girls cheating so why is everyone so down on the Saints they are humans. What I love about all the Saints fans we love our team through they up and down we are like other fans they talk down on they team. I live in Dallas, Texas where people's call themselves true Cowboys fans as long as they winning but don't let them lose. They call the Cowboys everything but the Dallas Cowboys they go as far as wanting the owner to fired the quarterback. Some of you do the same thing with your team, by do they act like this because they are sore loser the Saints fans are 100% Saints fans. Yes NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell doing his job we hope because we don't know if he doing his job are not and we really don't care. But if you as him what NFL teams has the best fans base he will tell you the New Orleans Saints better known as the WHO DAT NATION. Saints are looking forward to playing ball we been through the strom and talked about so talk don't hurt.

Love my home state, but these dudes are smoking something. Never gonna happen. The NFL does not care about what you guys think. I feel that the punishment was too harsh simply because the evidence hasn’t been presented to the public that players were paid to injure. If and when they present the evidence that shows that then I would probably think differently. If they were paid to injure, then they deserve punishment, Sean Payton shouldn’t have let it continue, simple as that. Once they were investigated for it after the first season they should have stopped. Love the Saints, one of the biggest Saints fans ever but I say take your punishment, get over it, and go play ball.

In my opinion those are the most important facts and I do not believe they are in dispute. All the Saints had to do was stop it when asked and the league would've swept it under the rug. The Saints made it impossible for the league to make it disappear and embarrassed them.

For the coaches that's plenty of evidence. For the players they will need to prove that players participated in it which will be the more interesting discipline.

the punishments are to harsh for something that has been widespread through the league for many years stop telling us to get over it cause if it was your team you would be crying over the punishments too just try and tell yourself that you wouldn’t if that makes you sleep well at night so get off your soap box and stop criticizing people for taking up for their team when you would do the same thing if it was your team

Cry all you want, they were caught and busted. Suck it up. And another thing, punctuation is a good thing!!

Dear Louisiana,

'Your' Saints ran a bounty programme encouraging your players to deliberately target injury on other pro-sportsmen for cash payments . This is against the league rules that apply to all 32 teams.

Expect a severe punishment for this misdemeanour.

Expect that punishment to then be doubled when your executive management lied to the commissioner about the existence of that bounty programme.

Expect the players involved to also then be sanctioned for being involved; not only for breaking NFL salary cap rules, but I suspect the IRS will also be intested in learning about payments of undeclared taxable incomes.

If Louisiana thinks the punishment is over, it may not have barely started yet.

It is stupid that the Louisiana legislature has wasted their time on such things.

But it is downright disturbing to see the hateful stereotypes and utter bigotry on display in the guise of moral outrage and social concerns in some of the user comments here.

I feel sorry for a lot of you. You aren't fooling anybody, and you're just as dispicable as the people at which you turn up your self-superior noses.

The punishments weren't harsh enough. Maybe the NFL needs to show the Saints what harsh punishment really is. How about the entire team sits out a season? Payton banished for life maybe? Louisiana is a deeply corrupt state and that's why they don't understand their punishment. Oh, almost forgot, maybe the NFL should take away their Super Bowl trophy due to the bounty on Favre.

Some where the ESPN crew is doing their C'mon Man!!!! session to the Louisiana Senate for calling the NFL to reconsider bounty sanctions.

Instead of this the Louisiana Senate should be trying to come up with a way to lower the gas prices, if they can lower gas to $2 a gallon than maybe the NFL should listen to them, maybe.

the punishments are to harsh for something that has been widespread through the league for many years stop telling us to get over it cause if it was your team you would be crying over the punishments too just try and tell yourself that you wouldn’t if that makes you sleep well at night so get off your soap box and stop criticizing people for taking up for their team when you would do the same thing if it was your team
