Luis Castillo is staying in San Diego after all.
Castillo, who was cut by the Chargers a month ago, re-signed with the team today.
Although Castillo visited both the Chiefs and the Patriots, he knows the defense and the coaching staff with the Chargers, and that made San Diego a good fit for him. Presumably he’s agreed to a reduction from the $3.9 million base salary and $1 million roster bonus he was due on his previous contract.
Castillo has played his entire career with the Chargers, who took him in the first round of the 2005 NFL draft. Last year he played in just one game, breaking his leg in the opener.
