His head was too big or he felt like he deserved to play for a real franchise. A winning franchise! We havent had a problem with him over here. Except for him making the usualy pro bowl, being an all pro, being the best left tackle in the league. Good pick up for us!!!!

He might not be an All-Pro, but don’t discount what Howard Mudd is capable of doing with quality linemen. He brings out the best of what he’s working with (Peters and Mathis are prime examples). In a year, if Peters returns healthy, Bell or Peters can switch to the right side given Mike Vick is a lefty so his right side is his blind side. Herremans can move over to RG, which is a more natural position for him anyway) and then yes, people aren’t crazy for saying the Eagles could possibly have the best oline in the league.

I am an Eagles fan. Let’s take care of this year first.

I am an Eagles fan too, but I am defending a solid move that even has an out clause after this year. Of course the focus is this year because after it Vick might not even be our qb, but if bell plays well and he and peters are simultaneously healthy, we can have a very good oline for a few years to come

"He didn’t want to be in Buffalo. Management obliged him and we got a first round pick for him which resulted in Eric Wood. Fans are happy with Wood. You are happy with Peters, good for you.

Bell is now where near the talent of Peters, and you are about to see why. He’s not a bad player, he’s just nothing special."
----------------------
Funny all we heard about Peters was how he was nothing special and a team cancer and we see how that worked out. Maybe playing in Buffalo just drags a player down...

Nice work on the revisionist history, fnslidevick. 1. I don't see where Bills fans are hating on D-Bell. He is what he is... a former 7th round draft project pick that performed like one. Bills fans are not underselling him. The guy has also been a part-timer thanks to injuries. And 2. Peters wasn't just tossed away by the Bills because they don't recognize talent. In 2008, he held out of OTA's, and the entire pre-season because he wanted the Bills to tear up his contract and pay him like Walter Jones. (Dude was lucky the Bills took a chance on him as an undrafted free agent TE and had Coach McNally work with him!) By the time he showed up for the season, he was out of shape and was pathetic on the field. He forced their hand into a trade, so please spare me the Bills don't know how to keep their players.

Hey dude, obviously you have no clue what you're even talking about. Not a surprise. Jason peters head was so big towards the end of his tenure in buffalo I'm surprised it fit through double doors. He was already hating it in buffalo and showed signs of not wanting to be retained so the brass got something out of him, which in turn is actually Eric wood, who is one of the top third centers. You see how many people the bills lost?? Roscoe Parrish and demetress bell. Dunce.

And all you Bills fans that say he is just an average left tackle, stop hating. Even if he was good (to you), you would still give him up because you guys dont keep talent. What was your excuse for giving up Peters?? Was he just average too??? YOu guys got a first rounder for him but All Pro left tackles in their prime are worth a lot more than a low 1st round pick.

He might not be an All-Pro, but don't discount what Howard Mudd is capable of doing with quality linemen. He brings out the best of what he's working with (Peters and Mathis are prime examples). In a year, if Peters returns healthy, Bell or Peters can switch to the right side given Mike Vick is a lefty so his right side is his blind side. Herremans can move over to RG, which is a more natural position for him anyway) and then yes, people aren't crazy for saying the Eagles could possibly have the best oline in the league.

Is Karl Malone also Jason Peters’ dad?"

Why the 7 thumbs down? That's a true statement. Karl Malone is his Dad.

The Eagles are getting no one special here. He's an average LT. I guess you could have done worse and maybe DB is ready to take the jump to the next level.

Good luck

Last time an Eagles LT changed his first name he turned out awesome.

If Bell is anywhere close to Peters or Thomas, I'll be ecstatic.

Move Bell to the right side next year, Herremans back to L guard and you instantly have the most dominant O line in football, if Bell and Peters can stay healthy that is.

And what should we do with the left guard we just signed for 5 years?

Typical Eagles fans...clueless.

Good for Eagles fans for being excited about a new FA signing, but you're expectations that D-Bell is an elite tackle are wayyyy off base. Take it from a Bills fan, when healthy, he is nothing more than an average tackle without dynamic footwork and little spring off the LOS. We thank him for trying in his few years in Buffalo, but there's a reason he wasn't offered the kind of money he thinks he's worth - the Bills still saw LT as a glaring hole even with him there and are ready to move on. He would have been backing up pick #10 this season had he re-signed. Good luck, D-Bell.
