APKelvin Hayden is heading to Chicago.
Hayden, a free agent cornerback who spent last season with the Falcons, has agreed to a one-year contract with the Bears, Jason La Canfora of NFL Network reports.
Prior to signing with the Falcons last year, Hayden played six years for the Colts in the same Cover 2 defense that Lovie Smith runs in Chicago. He’ll know the defense from Day One.
Hayden played in eight games for the Falcons last year, starting one, and had two interceptions, one of which came against his old team in Indianapolis.

Awesome! Good to add depth. Hopefully he’ll fight for the #2 spot next to Peanut.
Not a blockbuster, but an instant upgrade. Veteran experience and leadership. Welcome to Chicago Kelvin!
Congrats to the Bears for locking up this guy. Not a #1 but definitely solid and adds great depth.
That said I am legitimately scared this season for my Falcons. We have lost a handful of solid guys (Lofton, Hayden, Sanders, etc.), we have no 1st or 4th rounder, and the only Free Agent we have signed is Lofa Tatupu….I am worried.
Good business this offseason:
1. Bears
2. Seahawks
3. Broncos
4. Niners
This guy is incredible. Third best cornerback in football after Asomugha and Revis!! Great signing.
Knows the system — puts him a step ahead.
We’re getting a bookend for Pepp, this almost guarantees it! I’ll take a beast in the middle too, a la Po, but either way #19 is reserved for the D front four and I couldn’t be happier!!! Can’t wait to be the best D in the league again, where we belong!
Well, some warm bodies were needed at CB, so I guess he’ll do.
Hopefully Matt Forte takes the news well….
It appears as if the Falcons front office isn’t concerned with keeping talented players on the roster. Instead of keeping Hayden, we get Owens as depth. Ugh!
Really? The third best CB in all of football? Time to revoke your commenting privileges.
I’m willing to bet Hayden strained a hammy on the walk into team HQ to sign the contract.
BREAKING NEWS: The Bears agree to terms on a one-year contract with veteran CB Jonathan Wilhite.
Can’t wait to be the best D in the league again, where we belong!

Wait ’til the Ravens find out. They’re gonna be pissed!
We’re so confident he’s good, we’re going to give him a one year deal! Seriously, cannot figure out why all the one year deals….do a team option or something. Best case scenario is he plays good and leaves…mind boggling.
As a team signing a person to a one year deal, it’s about hoping you get the best from that player since he’s playing for a “new” contract so you might get a player who’ll play better for that one year than if you sign him to a multiple year deal. Makes sense.

I believe you’re thinking of Joe Hayden who’s still under contract with the Browns, and yeah, he’s pretty darn good!!
Kelvin Hayden should make a pretty good addition to this defensive backfield. I would’ve likes to see a 2nd or 3rd year team option but we’ll cross that bridge when we come to it I guess. I’m excited to see D.J. Moore get more time in more defensive formations and to see growth from guys like Wright, Moore & Conte!!
I heard the new jerseys would also allow peanut 50 more strips to go along with Pep’s record shattering 50 sacks in 2012!! Can’t wait!! Is it August yet?!?!?!
Gives the Bears a little depth at little cost. I like the move.
Im guessin 75% of the posters already know that but whatever.
