PFT Live: Michael Silver of Yahoo! Sports and Peter King

The audio of former Saints defensive coordinator Gregg Williams addressing the team before their playoff game with the 49ers is the hottest story of the day and PFT Live has the guy who helped touch it off.

Michael Silver of Yahoo! Sports had the recording and the words of documentary filmmaker Sean Pamphilon, who was inside the locker room making a movie about Steve Gleason’s battle with ALS. He’ll join Mike Florio to discuss the piece and the tape on Thursday.

Florio will also speak to Peter King of Sports Illustrated and Football Night in America as the appeals of the Saints’ penalties begin to go down in New York.

You can watch it all live at noon ET.

Listening to Silver…it definitly appears that some within sports media have an agenda against Williams.

The timing of this really stinks.

If I owned a franchise, I would fix this problem by limiting the media from the locker room.

Silver is not doing any favors for sports writers everywhere.

BTW, Silver’s attempt to explain away the timing…I have never heard someone ramble over his words like Silver did.

No doubt, Silver and his bosses targetted Greg Williams.

Saints all got off easy for lying cheaters with a tainted championship… They should have lost at least 3 first round picks & possibly 3 years of franchise tags, one for each year we have confirmation they intentionally cheated & lied. Williams should be banned for life.

That’s BULL! Williams was the one doing the targetting, as in injuring and ending carreers of opposing players.

The press is reporting what is given to them. What are they supposed to do? That is their job!

macbull—Yeah, that must be it. The media had it in for him. Has nothing to do with the fact of it being a huge story.

I mean, a coordinator running a program to hurt players after having been told explicitly by the league to stop it should not be covered. If only they didn’t have it in for Williams for some odd reason all would have gone unreported.
