Defensive tackle Amobi Okoye, a first-round pick of the Texans in 2007, has another new home. A year after joining the Bears following his release from the Texans, Okoye now is a member of the Buccaneers.
The Bucs and Okoye has agreed to terms on a one-year deal, according to Jeff Dickerson of ESPNChicago.com.
A four-year starter in Houston, the Texans decided to move on when switching from a 4-3 to a 3-4. In Chicago’s Cover 2 defense, Okoye appeared in 16 games, with one start.
In Tampa, he’ll join a rotation that includes Gerald McCoy, Brian Price, John McCargo, Roy Miller, and Frank Okam.
