They hit Brees and Shutdown the Saints Offense, something Jared Allen and the Starcap gang couldn’t do.
They also didn’t have Childress as their Headcoach.

Edjmat, there was only 1 illegal hit on Favre the rest were clean. You don’t need to have a bounty on a guy to get called for a late hit. They happen in just about every game. Hang onto the ball and dont throw it to the other team. Hitting a QB is the key to winning just about every football game and the Saints did it well that day. Your team lost. Get over it.

Vikes would have definitely win that game think about it: if the Saints didn’t put all them hard hits on Favre. They would have also won if Tracy Porter wasn’t on the team, and if the Saints defense didn’t play so hard as they did at the end because the Vikings’ offense was destroying them up and down the field they would have most definitely won!!! Damn Saints why did your play so hard? Your should’ve given up when we had over 500 yards of offense on you!! Stupid Saints! Vikings would have won that game.
And the Saints should’ve won against the 49ers too if Alex Smith would’ve been the Alex Smith we knew. I don’t understand why the 49ers won because the Saints had over 600 yards on offense, they beat the 49ers up and down that field , they should’ve won. And also if it wasn’t for Pierre Thomas’ fumble on like the five yard line because he got knocked out, the Saints should’ve won!!!!
Stupid five turnovers, if it wasn’t for that the Saints would have two rings right now!!! Because we just know we would have easily beat the Pats.

ok you viking fans are unbelievable. first off,the reason we won is not just because of the hits on favre,hes a tough son of a bitch and he’s taken worse(by ya’ll might i add alot of times). we won that game because we outcoached and outplayed you. plus if your star running back could stop being scared of the ball ya’ll might have won it. i still believe that was one of the greatest playoff games ever and nobody should be ashamed,they both played hard,but the fact that you believe we cheated is the most ridiculous thing i ever heard. bounties are not cheating,that’s just simply hitting harder than normal,spygate was cheating. i don’t agree with what gregg williams said in a way,mentioning acls went too far,but that is normally how a defensive meeting is. also to call for our title to be vacated,goodell better be prepared to vacate all three patriot titles,the raiders titles(as they admitted that cheating was encouraged)and i’m sure there are others as well. the point is,it was our time,we had the better team,and we will forever be proud to be the 2009 super bowl champions. you can say whatever you want about us,but that championship will forever remain as one of the greatest days in not only my life,but many members of the who dat nation’s lives as well.

You’re right. All of that had an affect on the outcome of the game. But there was much more to it. Think about it. Without the cheap shots to Favre, he runs for the first down with plenty of yards to spare. That takes away the INT and the 12 man penalty. Easy short FG to win the game. I’m so tired of hearing it was just about the fumbles. A lot more to it but yes it was a part of it.

Really? Did you watch the same game I did? Seemed to me the Saints rear ends were kicked up and down the field in a clean way. The Saints won by the score but it took a lot of cheap shots and blown ref calls to win at him in OT. Yes I blame the Vikings too. You don’t win many games by turning the ball over 6 times. But even with that they still kicked the Saints rear ends up and down the field and still should have won the game.

Good God, Shank just said without the cheap shots he “could” have a ring right now. He didn’t say “Should.” The whole statement implies something everyone acknowledges…

That game was crazy and pretty messed up all the way around. I really think the Saints fans are so defensive of this, because it also implies they “could” have lost that game just as easily. There is always going to be some bitterness between these two teams and the players on the field that day have to live with that.

To many players and former players out there with axes to grind who you know would be talking if this kind of talk had been going on with other teams around the league.

And there’s a lot of players on the Saints who played for other teams. They would be talking about other teams if the same thing had gone on there.

When the Saint players involved get suspended they will be singing like canneries if this went down around the league and everybody else was doing it.

Only 1 of those hits on Favre should have been flagged but wasn’t. Bounty’s or not they were clean hard football hits. The Vikings lost that game fair and square. Coulda, shoulda, woulda, didn’t.

Tainted super bowl champs, that is for sure. Goodell is probably having second thoughts about not taking back that trophy and just striking that abomination from the record books.

Just the Vikings luck to lose the poorest officiated game in playoff history, in which the other team cheated by using banned financial incentives, not to mention injuring the Vikes QB with an intentional illegal hit demanded by their coaching and administrative staff.

And if not for Goodell, those guys would all remain employed!

Man the game has really changed. I liked the mean, hard hitting and forearm shiver types of paly from the 70′s, 80′s and even 90′s. Roger Godells hypocrisy is epic. I liked Tagillabu he was like a good referee in a boxing match, U hardly ever noticed…
