You make good points,but I still disagree. You are born with world class speed. If a person isn’t gifted with the right genes,it doesn’t matter how hard they work out. Below are two good articles on the subject. If you have time, I’d suggest it. They are very good reads in my opinion..

That being said, there are some things you can do to bring your speed to the surface.

Making a long story shorter,what he’s referring to is increasing stride length and reducing the number of steps you take to cover a distance. Players like Darren Sproles for example have a short/choppy stride that makes them look faster than they really are. He really can’t help it much due to his 5’6 heigth. Now look at world class sprint event and you’ll see those runners with long/graceful strides that eat up large chunks of real estate in a single step.

The most diverse gene pool in the world occurs in Africa. West African countries like Kenya dominate the distance events. That’s due to what’s know as “Slow Twitch” muscle fibers.

East African countries like Cameroon and Senegal dominate the sprints due to “quick twitch” muscle fibers. Africans in the USA and Jamacia primarily descended from East Africa and thus the reason those countries produce most of the elite sprinters we see.

Strength Sports like power lifting and the hammer throw are dominated by Caucasians of Scandanavian descent.

Genetics play a huge huge part in sports.

That said, Football and Track are two different sports. Just because someone can run 100 meters in less than 10 seconds doesn’t mean
they could step on a football field, run complex routes,or even be able to simply catch the football. Athletes who become good enough to
perform at the professional level have put in a lifetime of hard work and dedication to get there. Sprinters have but one objective.Get from Point A
to Point B as fast as they can. Obviously it helps a receiver if he’s blessed with great straight line speed,but it’s only a small part of what’s
needed in order for him to master his craft.

you gotta be kidding me. yes the gold value of the medal is not worth 100k but they don’t exactly give olympic gold medals away.
