Tim Tebow’s Easter sermon draws a big crowd

tim_tebow1

Plenty of people are spending their Sunday celebrating Easter, but there probably aren’t too many of them wearing Jets jerseys at church services.

Outside of Georgetown, Texas, that is. That’s where Tim Tebow is on Easter Sunday to deliver a sermon at an outdoor service held by the Celebration Church. The church said last week that they were expecting 30,000 people to come hear Tebow speak and it looks like they made an accurate assessment.

The Associated Press reports that hundreds of buses are shuttling people to the location of the service from parking lots around the area and that massive video screens have been erected to beam Tebow’s image to the assemblage. They also report that Jets jerseys with Tebow’s name and number aren’t an unusual sight among the attendees.

The New York Daily News is also at the service and they’re finding more examples of Tebow’s star power. They spoke with people who decided to skip services at their own churches in order to hear the Jets quarterback speak on Easter.

There’s no word on how Mark Sanchez is spending the holiday.
