If thats the case please show us where you are getting your information from….

The Deal is done already, it was if the Raiders make it to the AFC Championship game in the 2011 season, then the the second round pick would be a first.

Do us a favor, before you start stabbing your fat fingers on the key board with your misinformation, do a little research first. Thanks……

Per ESPN, via Associated Press

The Raiders are hoping he can do a lot, having traded a 2012 first-round pick and a conditional second-rounder in 2013 that can become another first if Oakland makes it to the AFC title game in either of the next two years.

stull60060 and ch8878, you are both wrong. If the Raiders make it to the AFC Championship in 2012 (they didn’t) or 2013 (a possibility), the 2013 2nd round pick becomes a 2013 1st round pick.

If Palmer does lead the Raiders to a division title, McKenzie will….
Risk losing another first round pick. You forget the second round pick in 2013 was a conditional pick that could become a first if Palmer and the raiders reach the AFC title game.
But since that’s not going to happen. Thanks for the first and second pick. Enjoy ‘pick 6 Palmer’

If the league gave out trophies for collecting extra draft picks, the Bengals would...lose to the Browns. Enjoy your offseason, where you still have a chance at success.

Gotta love the haters but my new favorites? The idiots who still think Al Davis is running this team: we won't be drafting anymore track stars, patspatspatscheat. 2nd place for new favorite: the laugher about Raiders fans "finally coming around" on RMcK. Actual Raider fans have been on board with RMcK since Al passed (and thanked heaven that it was followed by Hubris Jackson getting canned!) and are well aware that this team is finally on the right track. (Or at least in the right decade) Like I've said a hundred times, AFCW, hope you won something when you had the chance.

Oh wait... Never mind. Denver signed Manning, no one has to play the games this season. Damn!

This article reinforces the notion that the lack of restricted free agent signings is collusion among teams not to poach each other’s players. Can you honestly say that a beat up Carson Palmer is worth a one and a two, and Mike Wallace isn’t worth a late round first? And don’t give me the “he wants Fitz money” nonsense, of course he wants big money, that doesn’t mean you need to offer him big money. Wallace will make $2.7m this year. If you offer five years $40m with a large signing bonus, would he sign? Maybe. Would Pitt be able to match? Doubtful with their salary cap issues. Would Denver be better with Mike Wallace and at the same time cripple an AFC opponent who beat them in the playoffs last year? Definitely. The only reason they don’t is the gentlemen’s agreement to not sign each others restricted free agents, and the NFLPA should call them out.

--------------------------

One is a quarterback, the other is a wide receiver.

Not to mention Raiders were 4-2 at the time of the trade and the alternative was handing the reins to Kyle Boller and flame out much like the Bears did with Caleb Hanie. In the end, the defense and McFadden's injury kept the Raiders out of the playoffs, but at least we were still alive with a few minutes to go in Week 17 and now have a legitimate franchise QB to move forward with.

"No one remembers the 10 QBs taken before Brady in the draft, or the 2007 draft where teams wasted early draft picks on Russell, Quinn, Beck, Edwards, Stanton, Kolb, etc. All of which barely have jobs in the NFL anymore. How is that any different than trading your picks away for an established starter. Draft picks are overvalued in the NFL, because everyone thinks they “could” get that superstar. Well more often than not you WONT."

Well said. That's why picks get structured contracts now. No more holding out, like that big bus, and I do mean BUS, Jarmarcus.

Truth is, the draft is a crap shoot. In the Raiders case this year, they're better off with a former Pro Bowler, than crap shooting draft picks and waiting to develop a QB. We already have 1 project on the roster at that position.

Let's let the new regime settle in, and see how they do this year. Then we'll know. Running around half-crazy, (only half) is what Big AL used to do, over paying and making bad choices. Let's see what patience, and a good GM and judge of talent gets us. One thing for sure, it couldn't get any worse, and if it gets better, we'll know we're on the right track.

From reading some of the posts here, it seems the Donkey fans realize that the Raiders are in good shape and poised to take the division.

Of course we are!! You were lucky DMAC went down last year and it's nice to see you coming to your senses. However, we already know we are great and are going to take it all this year!!

I understand the fear we put into your heads. It's evident by the responses from your own fellow Donkey fans!

Don't worry, the RAIDERS are clearly in everyones head.

Oh wait.. It's the NFL !!! You don't win Division Titles with just talent in April. Just ask the Eagles or better yet the every yr Superbowl bound Chargers/Cowboys. Which by the way all missed the playoffs.

Plus, how many super bowl appearances did old guys Unitas, Montana, Favre, Stabler, McNabb, etc have for their second teams?
