Andrew Luck visiting Redskins Tuesday as well

It’s a busy day for quarterbacks in the nation’s capital.

The Redskins will follow up a day with Baylor quarterback Robert Griffin III by spending some time with Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck this evening. Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Luck will fly from Indianapolis to Washington for a meeting with the Redskins. He won’t work out for the team, as per league rules, but he’ll learn about them while they learn about him.

Florio told you last week that the Redskins were planning several meetings with Luck despite the widespread belief that they are going to wind up taking Griffin after the Colts take Luck. Until Jim Irsay makes the Colts’ plans known, however, the Redskins need to do their due dilligence on Luck so that they will be well-prepared in the event things don’t go as expected when Roger Goodell walks to the podium on April 26th.

While it’s possible that the meeting with the Redskins goes so well that Luck tries to leverage himself into winding up in D.C., all expectations remain that he wants to be the first overall pick in the draft. Griffin has sent similar signals about his desire to play for the Redskins, but, as a guy who played another sport once said, it ain’t over ‘til it’s over.
