It doesn’t matter if luck was in a pro style offense if this is your only case. It was the same thing with Jimmy Clausen. None of us know how these 2 good QB’s will play on a NFL level. I could hear the excuses now , If luck fails its because the colts have no weapons. If RGIII fails its because he was overrated. I wish both of them the best wherever there destination may be.

Newsflash: if after 3-5 years, it appears that Griffin is the type of QB that can take you to the Super Bowl, that won’t classify as “overpaying.”

I agree that, at least based on their respective experiences, Luck likely has a higher upside than RGIII but I don’t get what is driving the Leaf reference…I mean other than the fact that you might be a jealous racist hater…

People can say what they want about Irsay but he’s proven he can put the right people in place for a team to succeed the same can’t be said about Snyder. The Redskins have had some pretty high draft choices since he became owner and for the most part they swung and missed on most of them.

Of that list, I only see 2 full-fledged busts–Gardner and Ramsey. I’m guessing every single team can name 2 1st round busts in the last 13 years.

What bothers me more than anything is that people go around saying that RG3 is going to be a bust. Maybe he will, maybe he won’t. But I don’t know why people act like they are talent evaluators who also own a crystal ball.

Before Washington traded up Indy was locked on Luck. This is just gamesmenship and a rouse. They have to take Luck. If they did draft RGIII and he was a bust; (not likely) the Front Office would be thrown out. Luck is the safe choice; regardless on how he does the FO can fall back on it being the consensus pick…….not their fault……they may keep their job……..

Don’t go, if offered, RGIII. Return Washington’s love they showed in trading up….

I hope Griffin lights it up in D.C. I’m not a Skins fan, but somehow, I feel like football is better when the Redskins (and Raiders, actually) have good teams.

what is making people think that RG3 is a prima donna or spoiled???? i think (sometime) we will read how he spent time in Indy and then we will hear that small speculation that RG3 to Indy could still happen.

NOW, with that said, i dont think RG3 cares if he’s a Redskin or Colt, but i think that RG3 THINKS he will be one. now if the Colts surprise people and take him, he will go there with a smile on his face and the Redskins will just take Luck and smile too, but i, the Redskins and likely RG3 all believe it’s Luck to Indy and RG3 to DC. i cant see Irsay pulling the swerve unless Luck gets hurt.

From a public image point of view, both sides look rather petty in publicly announcing they’re not going to visit with other. From a negotiation point of view, the Colts are hurting their stance in potential contract talks with Luck by making it crystal clear by their actions that they will select Luck.

Want some “truth?” Here it is. Griffin’s refusal to work out individually for any team has nothing to do with being rich (which he isn’t, not yet) or spoiled (which he does not appear to be). In an attempt to encourage teams to attend his pro day and also see his teammates work out, he promised them that he would not work out individually for teams.

I’ve found that it generally helps to have a clue what you’re posting about before you hit “submit.”

The ‘Skins won’t make a “power play,” overt or otherwise, because they have no power. They are going to take whichever of the two QBs that the Colts don’t, and there’s a 99% probability that that will be Griffin.

I can’t stand how the Skins fans keep saying that RGIII does not want to go to Indy because Washington is SO MUCH BETTER and he’s too smart for them and he would never play for them blah blah blah.

It’s so stupid! Stop it! It’s not his choice! Just because he isn’t good enough to be drafted number one, does not make being drafted number two somehow better.

The Skins suck! Their owner sucks, their coach sucks, their team sucks, even their uniforms suck.

RGIII had one great year in college. Luck has had 3 in a pro style offense and calls a lot of his own plays (similar to Manning). Plus great character and genetics… Not saying he’s not going to be a bust, but there are very few, if any downside risks.

And yet there is still questions about whether Luck is the pick of the Colts….. “Luck had 3 years in a PRO STYLE offense, callin his own plays by God. Genetics, well, did you ever see any tape from his dad’s playing days? I wouldn’t brag very much on those genetics. Robert Griffin III had 1 great year in college…., has great character, won the Heisman and from all accounts will surely help whoever drafts him, so let’s wait until some real d-lineman(not those from the Pac 10 or Big 12) come at Luck or RGIII and at that point we’ll get to see the downside of both of them……

I’ve seen guys force a trade after the team took them overall (Eli, Elway), but never seen a guy that said, thanks but no thanks I am happy being drafted 2nd overall instead of the 1st before.

This is so ridiculous. Why in H would any team want a QB that does not want them? Luck is considered the best QB in the draft and is fine playing for Indy. Griffin is considered an almost equal if not better athlete QB who wants to play for Washington. Reversing those two will make Indy look like an idiot stuck with a QB who does not want to be there and pines for “what could have been.”

So stop the speculation… The top 2 draft picks have already been made.

Colts aren’t signing Luck yet because THEY GAIN NOTHING BY DOING SO!

What if Luck snaps his leg next week. Rips his shoulder out lifting. Gets in a car accident. Theyd be stupid to sign him early when the contract will take 5 min to complete.
