Everyone hates on romo with the same old sayings, its getting old already, the man has proven hes one of the best, hes never had a great oline and never had a great defense, last year we were trying to rebuild alittle bit and thid year we had one of the best, if not the best free agency picks up ( according to adam shefter) weve picked up key positions and after last years draft of having 5 out of our 7 picks made an impact on our team, we went from one of the oldest teams last year to one of the youngest teams in all the right positions, romo is in his prime years and romo has never been the problem, its our oline and dbacks...and we addressed bth of those in the first wave of free agency, and now im gonna have to say our first 2 drafr picks will be starters and possibly 2 more can make an impact on the team...jason garret finally has a full year to coach and rob ryan finally has a whole year to put in his defense with the players we picked up to fit in those roles...im not worried at all, everyone hates on my cowboys, and if youe being hated on then your doing something right...im npt predicting a super bowl but like the guy in this forum said before, we were a couple plays away from being in the playoffs last year so this year we will be just fine...we will pick up some more key free agents in the second wve in

And lest we forget, Free Agency and the Salary Cap (both supported by Jerry) are the culprits in PARITY. Can't keep the team together if you have a cap and they want more money and can get it as a free agent. Simple math, dudes. Seriously, some of you need to get some logic, see the big picture, and look at old game film of Testaverde, Carter, Henson, guys like that who played QB since Aikman's departure who were either too old to have serious impact or too dumb or untalented or too slow. Seriously. We have it good with Tony at QB.

Well, surprise, the Romo-haters are out in style! Oh, how they forget that we were just a few plays away from being 13-3.

Jets game - blocked punt - if we get it off right, no score for the Jets, we win. Add 1 win.

Lions - yeah, so Tony threw 2 pic6's, big deal. The second one should have been called back. CB hooked the receiver before the ball got there, holding, illegal contact, pass interference, whatever you want to call, it was there, watch the clip. Defense also gave up 2 4th qrt TD's. Change any of those plays and we win again. Add 1 win.

Pats - Tony leads the 'Boys on the game winning TD drive, and then the defense gives it right back, never even sniffed Brady. Defense (again) does it's job, we win this one, too. Add 1 win. (we are up to 3).

Cards - Timeout notwithstanding, he should have made that kick. If he does, Tony has led another game winning drive to add to the others he has this year. We win again, add win #4.

Giants - first game - so many choices (none of them Tony's fault) - Miles loses a TD in the lights, defense gives up 2 4th qtr scores (where have I heard that before?), kicker misses winning FG 2 weeks in a row, only this one is blocked by the lineman who gave Tony fits in pass rush, Pierre Paul. Change any play, pick one, please, and again, game over, we win, add game #5.

So close to 13-3, 2 losses to Philly don't matter, last loss to NYG doesn't matter, they go home for playoffs and don't win the SB. You guys just love to run Tony down, but you're wrong. I'm not making excuses for Tony here. I'm telling you how it is. You can't argue with Tony's biggest stat, his career QB rating. He's back in 2nd place ALL-TIME! You guys are just spoiled and negative. I've seen the Cowboys win 5 SB's and loved every minute of it. WE CAN'T WIN THEM ALL, IT IS STATISTICALLY IMPOSSIBLE! But, if you remember that football is entertainment, let me entreat you to "entertain" the notion to ROOT FOR ANOTHER TEAM IF YOU ARE SO DISSATIFIED!

And don't go away mad, just go away. Reporters say the "Romo can't do it" slop because it's their job. You're just drinking the kool-aid. Has Tony made mistakes? Yes. Tell me the name of another QB who has put up with as many sacks and Tony has had who has the same talent Tony has, can throw like Tony can, run like Tony can, and improvise like Tony can. For crying out loud, he's at least a 50/50 shot in the 4th qtr to lead a comeback. That's a good stat, maybe great compared to most QB's.

Most of the time when we win, it's because we've plastered the other team for 28+ points and held them under 20. They just need to learn to do it in December and January. The defense has to play harder and with more aggression an create turnovers in crunch time.

Receivers need to not quit on routes and run them well, and come back to the ball when Tony is in trouble.

Linemen need to hold their blocks longer to give Tony more time and give him lanes to throw in, too.

We have made some upgrades for your pleasure. TNew is gone, Carr is in. Younger, faster, good in press coverage. Added 2 linemen that look solid. Back-up QB just got younger (old man Kitna retired anyway).

But, it's never enough for some of you. We all want to win the SB and see the trophy back in Dallas. Let me remind you of something: PARITY HAS COME TO THE NFL. You can't win them all, but if you get one in a decade, you're doing pretty good. Been a long time for us, but we now have a QB and he still has time to get one for us. Do yourself a favor: yell for Tony, not at him.

There are two points to be made regarding the Giants and Cowboys. First, the Giants aren't that great and two, the Cowboys aren't as good as people would like to think they are.

Look at the Giants the past two or three seasons. What was so special about their record? You talk about Cinderella moments and that team has had it's share.

Of course what else could one expect from a division consisting of the: Cowboys, Eagles, Redskins.....

So, you see, the Giants aren't that good. The issue is just that those other teams are, unfortunately, that bad.

Notice the amount of Giants fans (and all other Cowboy haters, for that matter) commenting on this, and the low amount of Cowboys supporters? That’s because we as Cowboys fans KNOW something the rest of you do not. Tony Romo is not an issue. He’s not a problem. And any rational football fan will know that he wasn’t the problem last year. Amazing what people can forget, such as his comeback victory against the 9ers. Before DeMarco, he didn’t have a consistent, healthy RB to support him. Which led to him throwing the ball more. Which leads, inevitably, to more int’s. The Cowboys CAN beat the Giants. And Romo IS an elite QB. But we, as Cowboys fans, know that. So we’ll just let the irrational Boys haters to continue their hate on this post.

-----------------------------------------------

Sorry dude, not really hating on the Cowboys (YES I AM!!!) as much as I am hating on another baseless comment from a team who was a "coulda," "shoulda," and "woulda" (AGAIN!!!) last season. Good points though, I like that Cowboys fan know their team and know that they can beat anyone. But I also know that there's one thing that ALL fans, regardless of what team they follow, know (ASIDE FROM WHO WON THE SB LAST YEAR!!!), is that talk is cheap, as evidenced every single year by someone like Witten from the Cowboys or someone from the Eagles or Redskins, for that matter.

Read what you just posted, all that "coulda," "shoulda," and "woulda" sound very familiar after the playoffs last season. Dude, I am glad you know your team, but know as well, that off season champs don't make you SB champs. AND THATS A FACT!!!!

The Cowboys are kind of like the Chargers- there's a lot of talent; but they never seem to be able to put it together. With SD, I would deduce their lack of success has a great deal to do with coaching. But what's the answer with the Cowboys? As much as I'd like to, I can't put it all in the lap of Romo. There's more to it than that.

Re: Kyle Williams

Aside from the two plays to Vernon Davis, Williams was the 9ers entire offense that game. Go back to the tape. He returned plenty of other kicks and punts back for decent gains. Without Williams, SF would have left NY with a short field and would have NEVER made it to overtime. The offense was a big fat O-FER on 3rd down conversions. Williams was far from SF's biggest problem that game.

First of all, Witten was speaking to the Dallas Cowboys official website, so it will be rah, rah. Also, a major difference between the Giants and Cowboys is the coaching. Garrett was terrible - the losses vs. the Jets (passes on the 1 - 2x), the timeout vs AZ, continuing to call throws vs. the Kittens (stop throwing after the 1st pick 6, run out the clock), running draws with Austin vs. the Niners (he was recovering, out 4 more games), and other bad clock management and play calls that led to losses. Garrett (and Newman, Ball), not Romo, is the issue. Fire Garrett and get a real motivating coach, motivation is a big part of the game.

On defense they have one players (Ware) who would start for the other 31 teams in the NFL. The secondary is terrible and the linebackers are not very good.
–––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––
Ummmm...I love me some DeMarcus but I'll take Sean Lee any day also.

Cowboys have similar issues to the Chargers, they just don't have the mental toughness & leadership to overcome adversity that well. It's like watching my team (Pats) in 09...same problem. It's a hard thing to fix because it's hard to engineer. But it helps to have a certain philosophy about the mental makeup of your players and stick to it. You're still going to make errors (like BB did with Adalius Thomas, Haynesworth, etc) but not as many.

So it won't matter how much talent that their is on the roster they simply don't have the leadership needed to bring it all together...

That's why they haven't really won a meaningful game since Jimmy's roster and coaching influence dissipated...

Time for the obligatory Romo stat-loving fanboys to be heard...Blorf!

Most teams can say that. There’s a pretty fine line between winning and losing in the NFL. The question is whether you’re team will or not. It comes down to confidence.

---------------------------------------------

This is absolutely true, and may I add, maybe the Eagles and the Packers have had a better roster last season than the Super Bowl winning Giants. But as stated above, you can have all the talent, but if you don't have the chemistry and don't put in the hard work to try and win, you might as well be paper champions as the Cowboys seem to be every year!

The Giants were way better than their record indicated last year. Their shedule was absolutely brutal. The Giants were battle tested, and that is what made them so tough for their playoff run. The Cowboys also had a tough schedule. The problem is the NFC East didn't rotate into an an easy schedule this year either.

There will be likely only be one playoff team from the NFC east and it will come down to the last game again. Whatever team comes out will have a legit shot at the Super Bowl.

The Cowboys have to win the division, and have the disadvantage of playing the opening game against the Giants. That is as close to an automatic home team win as there is.

The Cowboys probably need to sweep the rest of their division games after that one to ensure they win the division and can really only afford to lose one more at most to have a chance.

Notice the amount of Giants fans (and all other Cowboy haters, for that matter) commenting on this, and the low amount of Cowboys supporters? That's because we as Cowboys fans KNOW something the rest of you do not. Tony Romo is not an issue. He's not a problem. And any rational football fan will know that he wasn't the problem last year. Amazing what people can forget, such as his comeback victory against the 9ers. Before DeMarco, he didn't have a consistent, healthy RB to support him. Which led to him throwing the ball more. Which leads, inevitably, to more int's. The Cowboys CAN beat the Giants. And Romo IS an elite QB. But we, as Cowboys fans, know that. So we'll just let the irrational Boys haters to continue their hate on this post.

Yes Einstein most teams have the ability to go 9-7 and get hot at the right time and win 4 straight in the playoffs. Only problem for the cowboys is the need an elite qb to win in the playoffs and dont have one.
