The fight over the right to produce Tim Tebow Jets jerseys is over and, as expected, Nike has come out on top of Reebok.

Reebok agreed Tuesday to remove any jerseys and t-shirts it produced with Tebow’s name from the sales chain as part of a settlement of Nike’s suit against them for producing the apparel in the first place. They also offered to buy back any remaining apparel from stores.

A judge placed a restraining order on the sale of the jerseys last month and Reebok lost a bid to get it lifted last week, making Tuesday’s settlement an unsurprising end to the squabble.

A Nike spokeswoman told the Associated Press that the company was “pleased to have reached a mutually agreeable resolution.” The resolution is a bit more agreeable to Nike than it is to Reebok, but it’s certainly more agreeable than paying out damages to Nike. Given how little reason Reebok had to believe they could sell the jerseys in the first place, that would have been a likely outcome if the suit went the distance.
