Last year at this time, Panthers G.M. Marty Hurney was preparing to use the first pick in the draft. And it all worked out pretty well.
Now, Hurney’s team is improving, but it still has a long way to go to get to the top of the mountain.
Hurney joined PFT Live on Wednesday to talk about the team’s plans for the draft and other issues, including whether Jonathan Stewart will be a member of the team in 2012, whether Bruce Campbell will play guard or tackle, whether the team may still re-sign tight end Jeremy Shockey, and Hurney’s thoughts on the news that the Saints had targeted last year’s first overall pick for a bounty.
Along the way, Hurney answers a pointed Twitter question submitted by a member of the Panthers’ starting offense -- and Hurney shares some previously unknown details (at least by me, possibly by you) regarding the manner in which the league handles the coin flips to determine draft position.
