If this isn’t a blatant attempt by the NFL and the NFLPA to raise the salary cap number over the next two years I don’t know what is!

Either its important to you or it isn’t. But the NFL continues to say “its important to us only to look like the good guys, as long as it doesn’t interfere with cash flow to awful much.”

The casinos should tell the teams to get lost. Being told they can only advertise for two years, Iam sure the teams are going to jack the rates.

You would hope the casinos have some creative indivuduals working on ads. The ideas are endless to throw it back at the NFL.

Does this apply to State Lotteries? In PA, they sell Steelers and Eagles scratch off games for $5 bucks a piece or is this different policy?

I can envision sitting in the Las Vegas Hilton (or whatever it is called now) theatre with petedutcher and after the room explodes when the Jaguars score a meaningless touchdown in the final minute, him saying, “wow, who says the Jaguars don’t have any fans? Little known fact – for posturing before the CBA negotiations, all teams fired non football employees to demonstrate financial hardship. The team my brother sells advertising for cut his commission by a 1/3. Maybe he can buy a boat for his lake house if he lands a new casino.

New revenue stream – maybe they can loosen the rules a bit so the casinos can generate more revenue and pay more tax that can be allocated for new stadiums to lessen the burden for us common folk.

Did you know the colts take 25% of all ticket revenue for Lucas oil stadium? That’s right, when Elton John/Billy Joel pack the stadium, Colts take 25% off the top even though the tax payees paid for the stadium. At least they found a new revenue stream allowing for casino advertising…how would they pay their bills otherwise?

I am against this. Adamantly.

My friends are going to be very unhappy everytime, multiple times a game, when i turn the TV off whenever i see a Casino ad, whether in a stadium or as a commercial. Every Time. Eventually I will get tired of it and stop watching the games all together.

It’s the ultimate hypocrisy. The reason sports gambling is controlled by organized crime is that the NFL spends millions lobbying against the legalization of sports gambling in casinos.

If the NFL would stop fighting it, gambling on football games could be taken out of the hands of the mafia, just like casino gambling eventually was.

And before anyone calls me naive, I understand that their is still an organized crime aspect to casino gambling, but it is NOTHING like it was 25 years ago, when only two cities in the country had legalized gambling.

Your comment is the dumbest thing I’ve ever read. He didn’t mean everyone that watches football is gambling on football. He meant that just about everybody that gambles on football watches football…in addition to those of us that watch and don’t gamble on football.

I think the NFL needs to call that number on the back of lotto tickets for those that might suspect they have a gambling problem.
