#89 is frickin awesome. As a Panthers fan it was so cool to see Steve basically be resurrected last year with Cam coming to town. It’s going to be fun watching Smith return to the playoffs with Cam, Rivera & Co.

We also just converted some of Greg Olsen’s salary to signing bonus, opening up another million or two, so we should be about $6 million under the cap, so we can sign our draft picks. They’ll probably do something with Beason’s deal as well. Next year, they’ll re-do DeAngelo and Charles Johnson’s contracts. But we’re going to be in really big trouble in ’14 or ’15 if the cap doesn’t go up more than everyone thinks it will.

I consider this contract a bargain for the Panthers. He is an extremely good WR. I wish, when he wanted out of Carolina, Dallas traded for him.
